AGT Barrels

The Vixen was a tack driver without much pellet searching for me anyway, but after owing the V3 .30 I realized how little information AGT publishes about their barrels compared to other manufacturers.
Being a .3063 and finding vids and slugging myself I found it difficult to find slugs that worked until Stephen Bianchi ( AVS) started his quest for a slug for the .3063 of the V3 .30 and everyone with one of the V3's had a good option.
But why is AGT silent on the barrels they put in their excellent airguns?
In fact their is so little published by them on the net about the airguns specs they make, that it's downright weird.
Being such good airguns you would think they would have at least a detailed list of specs comparable to some of the much less accurate or expensive offerings out there.
But after several years of occasional searches, I still only see bare bones descriptions of their offerings anywhere I've looked.

Does anyone have an answer as to why they publish so little?

If anyone has a spec sheet published by AGT themselves, could you share the link?

I slugged my v3 hp .30 sent slugs to corbin...they say my barrel is .3055 im commenting here so i can also see updates on post...when press and dies get here ill be making slugs and x-punch for trial to see what my pew pew likes
I guess they changed barrels at some point. .3063 is the common size except for the very first V3's that were released (AP)

I have encountered the same scenario. So I reached out to AGT.
I asked them the outside diameter of the barrel.
Asked if it was a polygonal barrel or traditional rifling..
I asked if it was Choked or not.
This is the reply I received. Likely from some receptionist that was playing on her cell phone and could not be bothered.

Hello
The barrels that we use for our rifles, they are delivered to us ready-made, we do not measure them, the information that we can tell you is that the barrels are made in the Czech Republic and they are not choked.
Thank you"

Do they not realize that people want to know what they have?
Since that time, derrick pulled the shroud off of his AGT. outside diameter is .56. Tad over a half inch.
I then inadvertently double chambered two Altaros 32.3 grain slugs. I had to tap them out. The rifling used is traditional rifling. right hand twist.
The barrel is absolutely not choked.
It's rather obvious to me that someone measures the barrels, or knows the specifications since they are listed on AGT's site.
I can't be of any assistance with the bore diameter of a .22 caliber because my digital caliper battery went kaput which is always the case when you need it. But I kept the slugs.
You are correct in that they are absolutely tack drivers.

Nice rifle! They actually just emailed me back and said the .25 at least in not choked and cz 1:17.7. So knowing the .30 , .25 and you say .22 must all be unchoked and what I've read about only the .30 being unchoked is not correct.

I take it this is going to vary by what year your rifle was assembled.

What’s up with the giant can? My .30 is around 110fpe and no can necessary. Gun is louder by my ear than the actual muzzle report.

I like the way it looks. Off sand bags ( the way I shoot it) it helps with stability. It does make it a little bit more quiet. There was only one left, so I just bought it as an accessory.
Well it’s certainly nice spending money to decorate a gun rather than spending money to get it to behave itself or extract more power. My biggest hurdle with my 700mm U2 is getting used to its size but lack of bulk. It’s like a foam brick. You see it, think it’s a brick but when you pick it up there’s brief confusion.

That's how it felt switching optics on my U2 700. It had an Arken Sh4j 4-16x50 MOA, 34oz scope plus a 5oz mount. I took that off and put the tiny 2-8x32 and suddenly it was light like a feather. But now it feels off balanced with the carbon stock, so the green stock may go back on it.

It's the same as my gun with a 600mm and without double bottles. Mine is a mere .22.
The difference in weight between the two is minuscule. A pound?
I'm hesitant to do anything to it internally. You know? I haven't had it long.
It's a double edge sword.
Right now, it zips 18.13 grain jsb into a small hole at 45.3 yards.
It shoots Altaros 32.3 grain slugs into a small hole. Albeit slower.
Now if I go into it and tune the regulator a little bit for more FPS for the slugs, then I'll be way over powered for the pellet.
Conversely, if I can find a lighter slug that shoots accurately without tuning anything, then you have the best of both worlds.
I purchased the silencer because it was there and only 1 left. Why not? It looks cool. Off sand bags the added length helps the balance.
Helps steady things.
It does bring the Decibels down slightly. Im not the most accurate shooter in the world and my gun is not the best gun in the world.
But I like it.
Be well

Haha, I have one Arken. You don‘t mount it on your gun. You mount your gun on it. The weight of a scope or how your gun carries the way you have it mounted is probably way overlooked in this hobby. I look at some of the guns pictured on the forum and think wow, that looks very awkward. But I also see some serious guns with minimal optics and think yeah, that guy is slaying with that thing.

I agree lol, I think that on the U2 700 it looks great, but damn does it add heft lol. The U2 compact with the 2-8x32 vector optics was a slayer!
