Air arms pro sport and tx200

My observations and problems......

I took the pro sport out of the package wiped it down and found a small blem on the barrel and trigger guard.. not the end of the world .But should that be there on $950 springer...?

I cocked the gun... holy poop was that hard to cock....Nothing at all like my 124,R9,R10,R7....

The shot cycle was nice felt like a tuned springer from a profession tuner no buzz at all..The feel of the gun is amazing. I know when its broken it. it will be a tack driver. And I will get used to cocking it.... the finish is top notch for sure..

NOW the big problem... grabbed the TX200 cocked it loaded a pellet and I couldnt depress the bear trap lever...

So I tried to put pressure on it...nothing. tried to pull the cocking arm down harder... nothing. it was frozen. I called Pyramid Air. I was on hold for 15 minutes. And in the time I put the safety in and out squeezing the trigger and recycling it. over and over multiple times. it finally release and I was able to release the cocking arm and put the gun to safe....

what a mess!!.. Im supposed to send the gun back tomorrow.. I'm sure I could fix it myself. but i was informed if i open it up the warranty is void...

anyone have this happen?

Just an update on the air arms Pro Sport velocity numbers.

First few shots new out of the box....

3 shot average:

Hades 15.89 654,663,659 average 658 FPE 15.28

GTO 11.75 871,868,871 average 870 FPE 19.75

AA 16g 678,651,663 average 664 FPE 15.67

AA18g 604,617,607 average 609 FPE 14.83

from what I've read and watched the hades, gto's and AA16 perform well...

If the GTO's are as accurate as they say. It will be great. Of course the gun will calm down. But i wanted some baseline numbers. so far so good. Still figuring out the best way to cock this beast... using my palm seems to be better so far...

FWIW If your underlever seems hard to cock. Put the rifle butt on your LEFT hip and pull the lever with your LEFT hand. It's a lot easier. Your brain tells you to put it on your right hip but that's actually harder. Especially with a Prosport or an Airsporter with their cocking levers hidden in the forearm. Helps on other underlevers too.

I learned this by "accident" when I broke my left hand and shoulder blade in 1992. Had a pretty stiff arm and shoulder for a while.
