Air Arms TDR Test Review - Full Power Version

Recently, the Air Arms TDR takedown air rifle has become available in "FAC" version. That is, full power and not limited to the UK Legal Limit for unregistered airguns of 12 Ft/Lbs muzzle energy (as was the TDR until recently).

This significant increase in muzzle energy makes the unique TDR a much more compelling option in the US market. It's a specialist gun that's likely to be of interest to the hunter requiring a compact, light PCP air rifle with more power than is offered by the P-rod.

Nice review, Thanks! That is one sweet little gun! I wonder why they designed it so that it won't shoot (properly) without the stock. Seems it could be a nice pistol like the Prod other wise.

Love to have one of theses "FAC" versions. I wish AA would have their rifles regulated, I believe their sales would greatly increase. I would gladly pay $100 more to have it done at the factory than to have it done after market!

I take the point about shot count in our reviews. We'll look at doing that in a standardized format so that it's comparable across guns. The situation's a little more complicated, of course, with multi-power capable PCPs. Maybe we just use the highest power setting. What do you think?

As for the low power setting with no stock attached, it's to prevent issues with UK legislation that makes air pistols with a muzzle energy of 6 Ft/Lbs or more registerable as firearms. And as handguns (the firearm type) are illegal in the UK that causes a big problem!
