I guess I should have specified more if you had to pick one gun to do everything which brand would it be
KRAL!!!! Because that's what I shoot and I also have 4 of them and it cost me less for all four than it costs for most FX or AA!

I know they don't get much love but I think they are highly overlooked Gems if you know how to tune a gun. Simple and easy to work on and they're stout units.

I'd hardly call any gun "obsolete" just because improvements are made to a new model, anymore than an older car is obsolete because newer models have more features. For me, the fact that I can upgrade a gun if I choose, is a benefit not a drawback.
Right.

But the entire FX marketing model is based around planned obsolescence, and encouraging you that you NEED the new and improved one. And given the easily impressionable nature of most of society and social media these days, well it works pretty damn good for them.

"This is the pinnacle of airgun technology, we have changed the game....it's the ultimate....superior..."

.....next year.....

"Introducing the MK2 with larger this and a new "X" system! It makes all other barrels obsolete"

You don't have to buy it, but you probably will, LOL

Remember when Smooth Twist barrels came out and regular barrels weren't good enough anymore? Then remember when the liners came out and Smooth Twist all of a sudden wasn't the best anymore?

The drawback of this that's kind of the elephant in the room is resale value. Especially when they are so behind on delivering the preordered NEW model.

Obviously it works for them, they sell a zillion guns.

On the flipside, Air Arms has been selling a largely unchanged version of the same model for near around 20 years with very little advertising. Just a different way of doing things with different sales figures I'm sure. But they don't have "influencers" on the payroll either.

....and before the fans get their lingonberries in a bunch, I DO ACTUALLY OWN AN FX RIFLE.

It's from 2003. :D

I'm certain you are well aware that improvement and innovation is the business model for many products, cell phone and computers are two prime examples. In both cases they are appealing to those who feel a need to own the newest and best, but a newer product doesn't automatically make the old product obsolete.
I know what you're saying, but maybe obsolete isn't the best word to describe it. I own FX guns too...

Total opposites in terms of what you get out of the box.

FX: you get a mostly assembled and setup gun with tons of little parts and lots of adjustability and points of possible failure. That's likely to be "obsolete" in a year or less when it's "upgraded"

Air Arms: you get a basically ready to go rifle with almost zero adjustability and very few parts and points of possible failure. The design has been around mostly unchanged for a couple decades.

Decide which one you need/want.

Neither are my first choice, but if I say anymore the FX fans will gang up on me and threaten to stone me to death with stale crepes.
Or broken FX guns.

Exactly, you really nailed it. Like the Red Wolf right? Oh then you gotta get the GCU 2.0 then the Safari with the cutting edge stock! It looks like reclaimed barn wood WOW.
Oh now the pinnacle is the Delta Wolf, oh but now it's actually the Alpha. It's funny you never call out other companies that do the exact same thing. Oh you don't have the ART barrel? Oh you gotta get one of those, they're hand picked by English fairies you've never shot anything like it!

Same can be said about the S510 that they've been making for 50 years, S510 Carbine, S510 XTRA, S510 XS (A REGULATOR WTF??? Wherever do they figure out that customers want a bleeping regulator!!!! AMAZING) OH NOW A S510 TACTICAL VERSION Sweet lord in the heavens its so tactical!!!! Ultimate sporter? more like Ultimate innovation right guuise?

Guess their influencers aren't as effective. Flying all over the World, showcasing different personalities must be all free no payroll involved.

Everything new makes the old version obsolete. Bunter logic.

Tell me your an FX fanboi, without actually telling me your an FX fanboi..... 😂

But seriously, scroll up. This thread is specifically about two manufacturers, and neither is Daystate, but one is FX.

Relax.

You want to sling poop, you might get some on you. I know what the thread is about but wouldn't dare catch you saying the same about Daystate. Tell me you wouldn't dare saying the same in a Daystate thread without saying it. I added some AA material to keep it relevant for you.

Such a typical tactic, say a bunch of garbage and get some pushback well I must be a blind "fanboi"

Why has this thread hurt you so?

I actually had a GC1 Red Wolf. Amazing gun but the trigger was hot garbage. I bought it used at a good deal because it wasn't a GC2, which I didn't want anyway. And upgrading to a GC2 wouldn't fix the trigger being hot garbage. So that didn't interest me and I sold it.

I played the system in my favor there because it wasn't their latest and greatest. I lost no money and no harm done. Just like a guy could do with FX, if he happened to like anything they made.

Does that somehow make you feel a little better? I hope so.

I'm fine just holding you to what you say and like when people back up what they say. I'm completely fine, you can tell me to relax, say I'm hurt, call me a fanboi all you want. Just holding you accountable friend.

You don't like FX that's fine, just running to every thread to spew all over it makes me think you're the one hurting :( The fact is you only do this with FX.

I purchased FX Dreamline and was so happy till rifle break and I have to send it for repair. FX has office in US and that was good thing. It took me two month and dozen calls and emails to get it back. I do not know about Air Arms, Daystone, BSA etc. but can imagine what headache people have if they break and they must send them to UK for repear. So my point that before make decision which gun to purchase just check out their warranty service
