Christmas in ‘86 I got a Crosman 788 BB Scout. I loved that thing to death. Looking at photos online, those guns seem chintzy compared to the way I remember my BB Scout. I loved that thing. Killed a pile of birds with it, no bird was safe.

Crazy thing, by modern standards this old bb gun should not have adequate power to kill anything 🤷‍♂️. I would not even think about shooting a animal with a BB pushing 2-3 fpe.

Sure CUZ i got that at the age of 46 and i turn 59 this year.
Still have it of course, my only .22, which technically is now illegal for me to have as they changed law soon after i got it, but not giving up / throwing out brand new expensive rifle, or spend a literal ton of money converting it to .177, or loose a ton of money selling it.

I am otherwise stickler for law and order, but the nut job they pulled back then, well i do not abide by stupid.

As a kid we had a cottage so spent a lot of time shooting airguns. Dad bought us a Crosman 2100 that never worked right and some Chinese springer that I can’t find any discernible markings on. The front sight went missing and it was held into the stock with tape but I could still make hits with it. Funny story about the Crosman though, when it did work one of my brothers shot the other in the leg with a BB. It penetrated too deep to get it out. If mom found out the gun would have been gone. It stayed in my brother’s leg for over 30 years until he went to the doctor for a mole and had it removed as well. The first one I ever got for myself as a teen was a 1322. Living in Canada you need a license for higher power airguns so I was always more interested in pistols.

My first air rifle was a Marauder, about 5 years ago.
My first air pistol was a Pardini k60 purchased from Don Nygord in the mid nineties. The reason I got into airguns is that I hated picking up brass from the powder burners. While on my hands and knees and my father yelling, “get the brass over in the corner”, I had enough and bought a Pardini. That was the last time I picked up brass.

My first was a Crosman Nitro-Piston from Walmart, back when this was a "new" thing. Very crude wooden stock. Unrefined bluing on the metal. Quite loud also, but MAN, could that thing shoot ! I was splitting popsicle sticks pushed into the lawn at 20yds with a cheap scope. It wasn't even close to being backyard friendly, so back it went within the first week. I don't recall the exact model name, but that's the one that got the itch started for me.
