Air gun hunting in Massachusetts

And here are the regulations for hunting coyotes in MA from the Mass.gov website.


NEW – The use of air/pellet guns are prohibited for the purposes of taking/ harvesting deer, bear, turkey, crow, and migratory game birds. Air/pellet guns are also prohibited for the purposes of taking/harvesting ANY species on WMAs stocked with pheasant or quail DURING the pheasant/quail season. (For a list of pheasant and quail stocked WMAs, please see 321 CMR 3.01(1)(n)). Air/pellet guns may be used for all other species during their respective legal open seasons.

I can't open that link it says I don't have access. I am interested to see if they give a caliber size for the various "all other species".
 
I’m from southern MA and you absolutely can hunt coyotes during the daylight with any and all calibers. You 1000% don’t need an FFL but rather I bet he was thinking an FID card. Which you still don’t need. Airgun aren’t considered a firearm at least not yet anyways. You will need a regular hunting lic and you will need to attend a hunter safety course. It will teach you gun safety etc

Our coyote population is out of control in this state. Right now is a great time to call them they are breeding and there hungry. Look up the Ma coyote hunting page on FB you’ll learn what you need over there about getting one into range. Feel free to DM me for more info.
