N/A Air Gun’s Illinois?

Yeah you need to look deeper than just this forum for guidance. Seems I’ve heard if it’s over 500 fps then it’s the same as a firearm. If it’s same as a firearm I would have to assume it would be highly illegal to ship it directly to him. Guessing it would need to go to an FFL. Again I don’t live in Illinois so seek more information from a better source. I know it stinks but I will keep my thoughts about that place and places like it as the last time I shared those I got a weeks vacation. Guess people are too fragile these days.

Same. I got a 3 day suspension myself for going at a new guy who was badgering a senior member.

As for the OP, I would check the laws again. It's easy to misinterpret them too. I think any 177 is legal, and anything under 700fps in other calibers is GTG. But then I've read 177 over 700 fps is a firearm and any other caliber besides 177 is a firearm.

Could call the local PD and ask how they interpret it, because that's who's going to show up when the neighbor calls.

Yeah it might be 700 FPS not 500. I didn’t go at anyone in particular just referred to states like Illinois with a descriptive term 100% accurate but I guess had the possibility of hurting feelings 🤷‍♂️.

yes even now a 1.77 cal must be under 700 fps , a couple of yrs or so a 1.77 was legal over that & was sold at w/mart ,advertising over 1000 fps.. i let my Foid card expire for about 20 yrs , & registered again cause a friend told me i was illegal with a 22 cal co2 hopped up 2240 Crosman , , i did not believe him , but after looking it up , i was convinced, the only caliber pellets i use is 22cal , & have not shot my 22 cal rimfires in over 20 yrs, as far as shipping , i have received over 30 + air guns in the last 15 years..
