Air hose safety

I have read of a few hoses and or quick connectors coming apart. Working in a industrial environment we wouldn’t think of putting anyone to the risk of having a HPA accident. Has anyone seen a hose whip check that tightens to a small enough diameter to fit aPCP air hose? Or is there anything else to prevent whip when a hose comes apart?

I had my micro bore hose probe blow out of my WildCat twice. The first time I figured maybe I didn’t get it seated all the way in but when it happened again I’m suspecting one of the Orings is failing. From now on I’m vigilant in making sure the probe is facing away from me while filling. Practice staying out of the line of Fire as we say in the oil patch when filling your guns. Btw, my other probe is working fine.

It's always seemed strange to me, how the probes work. You'd think they would blow out as soon as you put any pressure on it, but they just sit there, and do their thing.

I only use a hand pump, so my face is a ways away from the hose, and the hose is short anyways, so the amount of air that is expelled if it were to break loose is minimal. I suppose this is different for those filling from tanks and bench resting. 

I read this in another topic, fill speed, easy and slow is a good habit to be in when filling from tanks. They were speaking in regards to heat created, but it is also a good practice in regards to seals and mechanical well being. When you crack open the valve on a pressurized tank too fast, it's similar to an explosion.

Just had a quick connector turn loose on me Saturday. Very load pop. Luckily I was filling a rifle off of my scba so didn't have the valve open much. The initial whip was all there was.
