Air Venturi Air leak on Air Ventui Avenger

I'm a newbie to the site, so if I am not doing something right let me know. I recently disassembled my barrel, reassembled it.
Now I can only get around 820 fps, with a 18.55 pellet on full power. I discovered an air blast from around the front scope rail when the rifle is fired. Are there any ideas?
There was a very small o ring that I was not sure of. I placed under the big lug screw with a point on the end. If anyone could help it would be greatly appreciated.

When you took the barrel off, did you damage the o rings on the barrel? Also over tightening the grub screws, could deform the barrel .

Problem with most new Air Gun owners, is they don't lubricate the fill port when refilling tanks, tubes or bottles. Always place a drop or two of silicone oil on the fill port before attaching the filler hose. This helps keep the internal oil rings lubricated so they don't dry out.

No, I didn't damage anything. I just had that one tiny o ring that I didn't know where it went.

There also was a small groove after I removed the barrel. It is about 1/4 in. long,
and is from the largest grub screw, with the point, not being loose enough.

The grub screw must has ripped one of the o rings from the barrel stub. There should be two of them.

Depends on where the gouge is. If it's anywhere close to the o rings, it could. Another barrel kit would solve the problem.

Thank you for all of your help. It sounds like you are right about the o ring. I will take it apart tomorrow, and see. I think I may try to come up with something to fill the gouge with. Maybe JBweld or epoxy. I would like to avoid a new barrel, as I have a lot of time and effort invested polishing this barrel.
