Tuning Air leak with my Impact MK2

Well, the infamous FX Impact air leaks finally caught up to me. I have been lucky for a year and a half now with no air leak issue until today.

I have installed the Huma Transfor port and everything was okay.

Then I installed the Slug power kit. I followed Ernest's video and all went well until I screwed the bottle in. Large air leak sound was coming from the muzzle end and the bottle quickly dissipated. I unscrewed and screwed back in again and same thing. It just wouldn't hold air.

Now I am reaching out to you for help and maybe someone can point me in the right direction to sort this out. I have emailed FX USA and waiting for reply.

Another question is how do I fill the bottle from my tank to charge it?

no I didn't cock it. I installed everything except the scope rail and cheek piece. Then I tried to charge the gun by screwing in the bottle. Sounds of air leak was coming from the muzzle end. I wasn't able to investigate too much as the air in my bottle was running out. I have tried three times and now no air in my bottle to test. Hence I need to find out how to fill the bottle with my tank.

Like bobr said you need to cock it . your valve is not getting seated all the way .

wait, you mean to cock the gun first then screw in the bottle? Air was leaking fast as I screwed in the bottle.

This adapter will allow you to fill the FX bottles while off of the gun.

DO NOT purchase the Huma adapter as it uses air pressure to open the valve and will often displace the o-ring and cause leaks.

@Bobr/Dankleinman. It worked! I had a little bit of air left in the bottle and after it is screwed in, I quickly cocked the gun and the leak stopped. My bottle is now filled and no leaks!!!

I think he meant cock the gun before you screwed the bottle on but you got it anyway.

@airgunmike. yes I was stressed out for a bit after experiencing the air leak. I tried to follow Ernest's video but he didn't mentioned anything about cocking the gun to seat the valve.

Learning new things every day I guess. Hopefully I can get out this weekend to test my Impact with the Huma transfer port and slug power kit installed.

With a floating hammer like the impact has cocking it I'd think wouldnt make a difference. But glad it worked out.

@Bobr. thank you for the help. My Impact is ready to send some lead downrange this weekend, hopefully. I have installed the Huma Transfer port and the slug power kit.

Here are the gain with FPS using H&N 23gr slug at Max and 135bar

Before mod: 950fps, 46ft.lb

after Huma mod: 967fps, 48ft.lb

after slug mod: 1052fps, 56ft.lb

Now I can reduce my Reg down and start tuning again.
