Air tank regulator

Just get an idustrial Nitrogen regulator rated for 4500 psi from the local welding supply co Harris , Victor ,Smith and many more probably in the 3-4 hundred$ range but shop around find out who repairs reg's in your area might find deal on used
These are top of the line and industrial quality, but they are expensive.

Regulated fill station, these work, using 2 now. For my 3000 psi guns I set it to 2800psi. The other is set for 2200psi.

TBH, I tether my 3000psi guns to either.

I've done that too. I've stacked a fill valve on top of a gun reg. Those work but the AliExpress regulated valve is better.
Easy to adjust, 4mm hex
Stable, does not appear to drift.
No stack of 2 or more parts.

Since I have them on 3L tanks they are not the most stable platform. Easy to knock over. Stacked made me nervous, that it would break off if the tank fell over.

Please post links on what you recommend thanks
Use a big enough tank and the loss is minimal

Ezfill is $150 which is more than a 6.8L tank. And if you read the threads about it is not terribly reliable. The $20 knockoff Ezfill on Aliexpress are no more and probably less reliable.

Buy 1 9L tank on Alibaba and a regulated fill valves on AliExpress for less than the price of one smaller tank, fill valve and Ezfill.

Alsafe 9L tank shipped $215

Regulated Output Tank Charging Valve $55

I have 4 of the valves you linked. I've had good luck with them over the last 6 months.

holy poope...me too. Gotta be a way to go thats cheaper yet good quality.
Easy, black blackdog's stack or the AliExpress regulated fill valve. Neither will break the bank, well under $100.

I've been using the AliExpress for almost a year, they just sit at the pressure set, no drift, no leaks.

I bought this inline regulator, as featured in HardAir Magazine: https://hardairmagazine.com/news/interesting-external-pcp-regulator/

I can't find a US based vendor, but there were none when I bought it directly from Ercan - his contact info is at the end of the linked article. I have had great results with the regulator he sold me - it is not externally adjustable, but it is very easy to adjust when not under pressure. It was a very affordable option that allowed me to stick with the tanks and valves I already had but to tether regulated when I want to do so.

If interested, you could reach out to him - he is located in Turkey, and while his English is not perfect, it is far better than my Turkish ;). We were able to communicate with minimal issues and complete the transaction. I paid him through Western Union and he shipped it promptly - and I am very happy with the results. I have no affiliation with him other than being a satisfied customer. This was in 2022.

Do know that the regulator - at least at the design level from when I purchased it about a year ago - did not have vent capability, so that needs to be provided. The video shows it with DIN fittings, but I ordered mine with foster fittings on both ends, as seen in the picture below. To adjust it, I simply unscrew the "cap" with the foster fitting on the left and then I have access to the adjustment screw just like in the video (the cap is basically an adapter to the DIN threads on the body of the regulator. I think it is a great bit of kit - just be sure you have a way to vent it (maybe he has one with a vent now).

I tried, not very hard, to track those regs down about 6 months ago. Didn't find any for sale and didn't get a response to email.

OK. After posting, I had a bit of an "ah-ha" moment and realized I could simply screw mine into my JoeB guppy as it has a DIN G5/8 output on it once I take that "cap" off of of the regulator . . . . so I think that could be awesome!

Anyways, I sent Ercan an e-mail asking if it would be safe to use it that way without a vent after the regulator (I doubt it), and also to ask if he has anyway to sell them here in the USA now. I do think it is a great unit, so hopefully he will have a good answer on that. His website looks like they are still in operation, so we will see. I'll update with any feedback I get . . .

I have one of these. I little pricey, but it's 300 series stainless. It's a tank and doesn't feel like it'll blow up in my face.
Nice , like you said pricey.
If something is the only thing out there I might consider,
but when an item can be got at a 10th of the price THAT DOES The same I’m going cheap.
For instance I like Joe Brancato’s stuff , I just ordered gun from him. I have his TP3 fill valve. I wish
him well with his “for me” high priced tanks and valves. There are buyers who wouldn’t dare
trust Aliexpress tools. I’m going cheapest first and up the price ladder if needed.

I was reluctant to post it without being asked because I got it back in 2022 before inflation went nuts . . . I paid $140 for mine, but I expect they will be a good bit more now. That price was direct from him, but who knows what it would have been if I had to go through a normal retailer - given that the "competition" is so much higher, I think the price would have been higher. I recall once seeing one place online that IIRC was selling them (after I got mine) for over $300 a few years back, but that company is now out of business as the link I kept for it was dead (and thus was deleted a while ago).

@blackdog899 , @SpindleB and others . . .

I heard back from Ercan, and he would love to have a US distributor but does not currently have one. In the mean time, he is happy to sell directly to anyone here that wants one of his regulators, and he told me to post that he will sell them for $150 shipped. His email is [email protected]. He said they will take about 8-10 days to arrive, but I'll add that the actual arrival will depend on how fast customs processes them - mine had a delay there a few years back.

I did not ask about payments, but I had to use Western Union back when I bought mine.

This is for the regulator in the Hard Air Magazine article: https://hardairmagazine.com/news/interesting-external-pcp-regulator/

If you want one it would be good to get one before any tariffs get put in place, as that will not only make things more expensive - it will slow things down a lot (as the direct importer, customs will need to collect the funds from the buyer).

Again, I have no relationship with Ercan other than being a happy customer . . . .

By the way, he also told me that the regulator does not have to be exclusively vented from the output side. It can be vented from the input side without damage, however the venting will be really slow - like about 15 seconds just to vent the line. So while it is good to know that we can't damage the regulator if we accidentally do that, it is not very practical as many guns won't have their foster fittings seal up with that slow a vent rate (and thus it could end up draining the gun reservoir).
