Yes to all the above. I would hate to have to charge my gun from my compressor when I can just charge it multiple times with a tank.
Aside from the convenience of the tank, cycling your compressor on and off multiple times for short runs is most likely not the best way to run it. On off cycles are hard on any pump.
I would suggest a 98 cf tank or at minimum a 75 cf one.

All,
I used to be an air gun freak.. divorce changed all that.. Well 14 years later here I am.

If I were gonna purchase a good compressor (Daystate Super Leggaro), would you also buy an air tank? What about an air tank w/o DOT cert?

Thoughts?
I like the GX series compressors. They seem to be a good value. There are people here that can help you out with parts and info.
I only buy DOT tanks, but I am in the minority here. (I come from a paintball background and fields will not fill a tank that is not DOT or is not in hydro date). It is just a rule that has been ingrained in me from 30 years of playing ball.
Most air gun manufacturers do not use DOT cylinders. Skout uses Alsafe and I trust Skout.
I don't know how big of a deal it is.... I have never been pulled over and had a police officer ask about my air bottle.

DOT or not needed?
