Air to nitro

Is there any reason I should empty the air from my tanks completely before refilling with nitrogen?

Yup. Breathing air is about 78% nitrogen anyway. Your advantage with nitrogen is less moisture and larger/higher pressure fill tanks. If you have the source for nitrogen just make sure you have an appropriate regulator between the tank and the gun.
