Air venture g6 pump help

I wasn't able to pump air under pressure so I decided to check the seals. I found and then immediately lost a whole bunch of little clear beads. What are they and of how much importance are they? ?

They are drying beads. I forget the name. I believe they should be changed after they turn color.
