Air Venturi AV-46M Match Air Pistol

factory grip will need to be rework for most for your strong hand middle finger area but maybe not
it appears that all Air Venturi AV 46M are gone and seeing they were made in Russia or from Russian parts it was to be expected
and if that fact is true the price of IZH 46m will start to climb
Thanks @marflow 777

I recently got hold of a cheap Izzy that works exceptionally great. Am a newbie to 10m target shooting and this gun is quite accurate for its price. Shoots way better than my skills

The only downside being it came with beautiful walnut (probably Rink) LH grip for that low price tag :)

I did get hold of a $99 deal on a factory RH grip but still debating on whether I should go with factory grip versus a custom one with a bit more investment

Don’t see any R, but definitely not factory grips

they do not look factory but they are well made
nice wood could be home made and if so the maker is very good
they are not Rink or Steve Corcoran and not factory but would have good value
if you like the pistol think about the upgraded trigger it make the finger fit way better, the bad part is the trigger used to be about 25 buck and now almost twice that

1. Is this the one you are referring to https://www.pyramydair.com/product/air-venturi-izh-46m-upgraded-air-pistol-trigger-assembly?a=4101
2. Do you know how to adjust the trigger weight on this pistol?

I have two now. The first an AV model, first the cocking lever pad split. I glued and pinned it back together then disovered another split/delamination under the movable shelf at the bottom of the grip so got a set of nice grips from Rink for it, looks better than those red/black laminates The other a standad IZH from Canada shooting Supply I did over the course of a few weeks modify the grip on the left side where my fingers wrap around making a couple of rounded grooves for them. It actually feels better in the hand than those expensive Rink grips

I am actually liking and shooting these more than any other air pistol I have. That includes several Crosman 2240 types, all of them modified for accuracy, HW 45 & 75, Diana Airbug, a pair each of FWB 65 and 80's, and a S&W 78g. I think the FWB's are equal in accuracy, at least with me shooting, but the trigger on the IZH is much better and it is easier to cock, or charge the air cylinder, another plus is you can dry fire it without charging the air cylinder.

when the AV model came out there was a guy that took some very good pictures and i looked at his and looked at my IZH and the quality of the IZH was why better but without one in hand i left it alone
now the reality is the IZH has many cast parts that could have been finished better and being cast are not as strong as machined steel but cheaper
i have one and use it very little and was surprised that i got rust in the middle of the sight where no moisture should have ever been and the why was it was cast steel and very porous but the IZH is a keeper and i believe just about everyone has to rework the grips
