Bought my compressor couple of months ago. When it came it worked great!!! It now has been working more than an hour to go from 3200 psi to 4000 psi (which took minutes new). I have check the fittings for tightness and leaks. I have sprayed soapy water onto every fitting, gasket, tube in the compressor and nothing. Any ideas out there on what might be wrong?

I fear it may be a fact of life, for some of us. My Carette (spelled Karette) so we know it's a knock off, has slowed a bunch. Takes forever to go from 4000 to 4500. I mean what's the point of having 4500 capable tanks, and not filling? Like going to the gas station with a 5 gallon can, and only buying 4 gallons? I think on many of these, let's say in-expensive compressors, it's the high pressure piston/seal that goes first. I do know that any kind of the tiniest leak will slow things down too. So I imagine when that high pressure piston/seal starts leaking, it's about the same thing.I've been shopping REAL high pressure compressors. Scuba, air breathable, professional types. Found one I like, but with shipping, would be around $4000.00 !!!! YIKES! But I guess you get what you pay for, most of the time.

Not familiar with the Air Venturi, But the principles are the same. Had an Omega and there is a check valve. It will have a spring and seat to keep the air from reversing. On the Omega when the spring got weak or the seat got dirty and couldn't seat cleanly time to fill would start increasing. See if you can locate and access and clean it. On the Omega a plug was unscrewed, spring and pop-it were lifted out with tweezers and the seat was cleaned with a Q-tip. Compressor would run like new again for a while. sylvan

gh6airgunner I have had that compressor about a year now and thank GOD I havent had any issues. Just for the sake of saying it....
1. When you are ready to fill your tank... I always know my remaining pressure inside say (3000psi) using a plug to be sure.
2. Turn on water pump and make sure it is running.
3. Connect the compressor hose to your tank but...... DO NOT OPEN YOUR TANK!
4. Open the drain screw valve on the compressor and leave open.
5. Turn on compressor and let it warm up for 2 or 3 minutes with no load.
6. Now that the compressor is warmed up, close the drain screw valve on the compressor and let the pressure build to 3000 psi and then open the valve on the tank and let it fill. Dont open the tank valve until the pressure is equal or a little more on the compressor side so the air doesnt rush back into your compressor.
7. While running I release the water drain screw valve once every 10-15 minutes for a short burst to let out moisture.
8. When full and unit shuts off turn the compressor button to off. I always let my coolant motor run afterwards for 5 to 10 minutes to get rid of the heat from the compressor. Then close the valve on your tank and you can slowly release the air from your compressor.
I will also assume your using distilled water as coolant and it is full.
Hopefully you ran the compressor when you first got it and changed the oil again? (Mine was nasty when I drained it first two times) I have about 12-13 hours on mine and have changed the oil at least 3 times. I just put in Royal Purple synthetic compressor oil on thursday. It is cheap and easy to change and keeps the temperature down. Try changing your oil if you havent to a synthetic and try my list and let me know what happens. Good luck. If you already are well versed with the compressor I am sorry for dragging on and pointing out the obvious. Just trying to help.

I don't own a HP compressor yet so limited exposure to this type of compressor. From what you've written it appears to be an internal leak or seal that the increase pressure from the first stage is leaking in the second stage. If you have the ability, you can remove the check valves, as stated be Crittahitta, and clean them. I'd start there due to them being external to the unit. After those are clean and are reseating correctly, attempt to use the pump. If it still takes a while to get to pressure you may have to pull the head and inspect/replace some seals.

About the only thing that I haven't done is change the oil several times. I do get a lot of air coming out of the blow off valve. The problem just seems to be getting worse the pump won't even go above 200 bar when I plug the line. I can change the oil but I was using a synthetic all ready and the pump maybe has 10 hours of use. Trying to get a hold of air venturi to see if someone in service can help but after a couple of days of calling getting nothing.

yeah something doesnt sound right. I got mine at pyramid air and they have a repair facility. Try calling the place you bought it from they can help you or at least give you some good choices. Good luck.
