Has anyone else experienced inexplicable leak paths from bottle to hose on the Air Venturi SCBA fill hose. Bleed valve is closed and bottle connector is tight but cannot seem to get it to fill gun. Just bleeds air.
Soap and water, look for leaks. I thought my Carette was going bad, until I found a leaky foster fitting. The smallest leak makes a BIG difference, especially when trying to top off a tank.
The female part has to be long enough to seal off that hole. all of my tanks are used scba fireman tanks. 4500 psi. they use a cga 347 fitting the nipple has 1/4 npt on the hose side. call air venturi and tell them it want seal off.
I believe there are 2 types of 347 fittings. I have a used fire fighter tank that I bought 2 fill setups for. Both 347 style. One works, has an o ring on the end of the part that sticks into the 347 fitting, and a hand tighten nut. The other setup looks the same, but does not have an o ring, and does not stick far enough into the 347 fitting, to seal, and this one has a hex to tighten.
It’s hard to tell without additional pics but it seems the nipple isn’t sealing the valve seat inside the SCBA connection. That hole has nothing to do with the leak. Does your nipple have an oring or gasket on the end? Most hand tight SCBA connectors do, and most wrench tight ones are metal to metal. When you install it, can you feel the nipple stop against the seat inside before you start to tighten? Are you tightening with a wrench?
