Hello, I am trying to figure out what is wrong with this Airacuda Max. While trying to fill the air just blows out where the magazine sits. I pulled it apart down the the spring and poppet valve without finding anything obvious.
Yes I have been using the cocking lever. I don't currently have a tank to give it a big blast of air like that.Is the gun completely empty of air? Sometimes, you need a bigger blast of air to seat the regulator if it's empty. You may need to use a scuba tank to fill it.
Also, be sure to cock it.
Been trying that too. Something else wrong. This happens to mine when I've degassed it. I pull the cocking lever back and leave it that way before I start pumping air into it.
Hope this helps!
Oh so the plastic chipped some. I didn't look this over real close since it was intact. I was expecting to find broken or not broken. I better pull it down again. I didn't do those o rings on that either.MAX valve broke, air leaked out muzzle and breech (after opening side-lever.) Dismantled per 45Bravo's MAX valve YouTube video and ordered new valve from JTS. Decided also to change "O" rings on the brass fitting (see photo) the valve rides in. One "O" ring seemed normal, other crumbled to pieces during removal. "O" ring kit contained replacements, but JTS sent a brand-new, "O" ringed brass section with valve. Replacement valve chipped, leaking slowly, found problem running fingernail along edge. Used drill and sandpaper to dress edge, re-seated to brass fitting per Hajimoto Gauntlet Upgrade video, no leaks since. WMView attachment 500800
Actually, was second replacement valve that chipped, first replacement valve broke just like original (see picture.) Seems design has unwanted "self-tightening" of valve spring, as shared by same-design Dynamic Air Rifle owner, Nervoustrig. Installed first replacement valve with caliper-measured same distance of valve spring, valve broke few shots later. Second replacement, this time white plastic, valve spring backed off, chipped two mags later, repaired as noted. JTS provided all parts no charge but stillOh so the plastic chipped some. Glad you found it. It still sucks that it seems to be leaking.Alright so I figured it out for the most part. I was removing that brass piece with 2 orings and now that I finally did I found one of the orings was in 3 pieces. I replaced it that the gun took air and shot fine. I notice now it had been sitting about 4 hours it seems to have possibly lost alittle air but not much. What focking pain in the ass.
My airacuda max did the same thing. JTS did the warranty work, replaced a broken poppet. It literally sheared in half. I got it back a couple of weeks ago, same thing happened. 2nd round into the 3rd magazine. All air blasted out the breach and barrel. What started out as a very nice rifle has turned into a paperweight. Made 2 attempts at contacting JTS, no response yet. Through this process I have replaced my .30 with the Macavity MA2. Very nice rifle. If they ever fix the airacuda again, will probably just sell it. It's been in the shop more than in use.Hello, I am trying to figure out what is wrong with this Airacuda Max. You should start making and selling them. I would buy oneAEA, DAR and Airacuda, I've long since thought of poppets as consumables and make my own replacements using peek.
Ask JTS to fix either replace the poppet or send you a replacement poppet. My airacuda max did the same thing. JTS did the warranty work, replaced a broken poppet. It literally sheared in half. I asked them to just send me one the 1st time. They refused because of warranty. They needed to fix it. Which would be fine if they had solved the problem of that particular part. I have only had it for a year, and this is the second time. Common sense would tell you that if this is a continuous problem, change the quality of the parts being made. Especially since they just replaced it 30 days ago.Ask JTS to fix either replace the poppet or send you a replacement poppet.
I could replace the poppet in 10 minutes now, after spending 4+ hours fixing my brand new Airacuda Max leak.
They are supposed to have 3 year warranty.
I guess that the warranty is as good as the seller.
