Airacuda updates.

I just received my " Adapter " from DONNFLY, in today's mail. It fits perfectly with both the Aricuda Standard .25 cal Rifle & my " BUCK-RAIL .30 Cal Moderator ". I did have to relocate my " Inline Aftermarket Filters ", to allow clearance, for the connectors.

I'm going to attempt to add photos to this post..

Greetings to All,
Been concentrating on accuracy with the .25 MAX for some time, tuning regulator and hammer spring towards finding the right formula for either JSB 33.95/25.39 grain pellets, Predator Polymags (26 grain) or JSB Hades (26.54 grain.) Unfortunately, nothing better than one-inch groups @ 50 yards, with flyers. Since my four other .25 PCPs consistently hit dime-size circles @ 50 yds, contacted Travis who informed to focus on 25.39 grain as heavier pellets were too much. Re-visited all Airacuda Max .25 YouTube reviews and determined my gun performance was in-line with reviewer's findings. Just completed a 4-tin H&N purchase @ Pyramyd Air for pellets and slugs specified in YouTube videos for accuracy. Will report future findings. WM

Travis,
Removed shroud, careful search of internal baffles revealed the following; Two of four baffles had jagged edges protruding into the pellet path, as well as metal shavings stuck in grooves where baffles stack together. Evidence of pellet scuffing was visible on several baffles. Light sanding smoothed edges and metal shavings removed to allow even stacking of baffles, will test tomorrow and report findings. WM

Good find. email me tomorrow and I’ll send some extras and a free magazine for the headache

Sorry Mo, documenting with pictures never entered my mind, resolving whether my $400 gun was going to become a safe queen, or an active member of the collection, trumped everything. Glad to report early testing reveals gun is half as quiet with no wild flyers. Going to take Travis up on replacement baffles, just not sure if slamming pellets affected current ones. None of my other .25 PCPs like the JSB 25.4 grains so not too concerned with the MAX shooting quarter-size groups @ 50 yards. WM

I’m kinda surprised the .25 cal barrels aren’t liking the JSB heavies. My understanding is the Airacudas are made in the same factory as the DARs. My gen 3 DAR likes them...many MoA 5-shot groups at 50 yards. The Gen 1 was the same, or was once I fixed the lopsided crown job.
It does shoot them well but at 50 yards going that slow unless you modify the gun even a slight breeze will have a huge effect. If I was going to shoot the heavies i would put in a stronger hammer spring.

I just received a set of " Scope Rings " from " AMAZON ".

I'll be attempting to test any / all " Lead - Freeee Pellets / & SLUG ? " available @ 10 - 50 + yards.

BARACUDA GREEN: LEAD-FREE 25 cal 19.91 gr Pellet / PREDATOR GTO LEAD-FREE: 25 cal 16.54 gr Pellet.

The " BUCK-RAIL .30 cal Moderator " works very well.. (y)

However, I do hear a very noticeable " PING " ( Hammer Spring ? ) with the Moderator on...

Hello all. I received the spacer yesterday installed it and took my Dremel and opened up area for vent. Shot 40 pallets seems much better and quieter. Filling up to 3200 psi and still only getting 20 shots off. Still a little nervous to go to 3500psi. Please let me know if you are still continually having success at this pressure. I’ve purchased a .25 moderator from buck rail and it threw off accuracy terribly. I questioned prior to the purchase from buck rail and asked if I should increase to a .30 for my .25 airacuda max he said no. Dealer told me if I had problems to take a one size larger drill bit and clean out the moderator slightly. His advice for doing this was that first he thought I would not have a problem and a larger outlet hole would not significantly decrease the sound like a properly fit one . I opened up hole last night and I will see if I have any success today. Thank you and please continue your good direction.
