Airacuda updates.

The above is a copy and paste from earlier in this thread. Donny has two adaptors for Evanix, I do not know for sure but is said they will work in the Airacuda.

I reviewed the above information..However, as stated there were " TWO " Evanix Adapters listed on the DonnyFL Website ( Page #3 )

QUESTION: Where does it state on their website..The Evanix Adapter will fit the " Airacuda ?? ".

I wasn't 100% sure, which of the " TWO " would fit the " Airacuda Standard "...

SO, I'mmma going to wait for a " Production Airacuda Adapter "....;)

Hi for the person who was asking what pellets this JTS Airacuda Max pcp airguns in .22 cal like the most here is the answer. I follow this guy youtube channel, in my personal opinion this is the best spanish speaking youtuber in the states, he is mexican but lives in the state of Georgia. All these different pellets test were done at 50 yards and 80 yards and the airgun was completely stock as it comes from the box he didn’t mess with his regulator and his hammer/spring neither. The speeds are shown in the pics the lighters 15.89 and 16 grainers were flying at a average of 900 fps and the heavier 18 grains at a average of 865 fps in his FX chronograph.

I am sorry to rain in your parade but my Air Venturi Avenger wood stock in .22 cal has the same accuracy as this airgun with this same pellets, and currently I am shooting 120 rounds per fill with the crosman premier 14.13 grains at over 850 fps between 4300 and 1600 psi in my FX chronograph with the reg set @ 1600 psi. With the heavier pellets I can shot over 90 rounds per fill at over 860 fps.

Chris from Buck Rail said it should thread right on with no adapter. Thank you for your help
Just for a Clarification: The AIRACUDA MAX ( .22 / .25 ) does not need a " ADAPTER "..

The " AIRACUDA STANDARD ( .22 / .25 ) REQUIRES an ADAPTER.

The Threaded Barrel Shroud End Cap is removed.

The " THREADED ADAPTER " large diameter end is threaded into the Barrel Shroud. The Smaller threaded end ( Nipple ) is then Threaded into the Moderator.

An " ADAPTER " aa a visual example.

This Adapter example has a thread protector cap, for when the Moderator is not attached.

Trueshot,
Crystal clear, as possible, photo shows $33 Buck Rail .25 Moderator (top), threaded end of Airacuda Max .25 shroud (middle), Airacuda Max .25 Shroud End Thread Protector. Remove thread protector, screw on Moderator. WMView attachment 309616
Much appreciated Worried Man. I should be getting it on Friday I will post the results. Airacuda Max has been very good so far other than my Woodstock being very loose. Still waiting to hear from Travis for this fix kit.
Thank you,
True Shot

Trueshot,
You're very welcome, my spacer kit due tomorrow. Stock was also loose, adjustable cheek riser rattling around and small spill of Ballistol, while cleaning barrel, quickly absorbed into wood like a sponge. Applied three coats of Minwax Tung Oil Finish to hydrate sufficiently to avoid brittle fractures around thumbhole opening. Can't judge accuracy without spacer to lock down stock to action, however chronograph testing reveals JSB (25.39 grain) @ 863 fps and (33.95 grain) @ 766.4 fps, suggesting hammer spring adjustment needed. With shot count @ 20 and un-moderated report as loud as a .22 powder burner, jury is still out. WM

Wow. You have a lot going on with a brand new gun. Mine shoots very accurate but like I said this is only my first gun I am very happy with it I’m Hoping to get my problem resolved soon. Are you having any luck with Airacuda to resolving your problems?

Trueshot,
Airacuda (Travis) quickly sent spacer kit, I'm unwilling to comment on accuracy until action is firmly affixed to stock. Shot count is 20 (2 magazines) less than 35, previously mentioned. Also, shot report like a .22 powder burner was not what I was expecting. If you're getting three mags per fill and "backyard friendly" un-moderated noise levels, seems I might have a problem gun. Like I said, jury still out. WM

Worried man,

I get two magazines (20shots) only per fill. I fill to 3000 psi, after 20 shots I am at about 1900 psi. I have not altered anything. Strictly out of the box. Noise level is louder than I expected/wanted but no does not sound like a 22 Gun powered rifle. Please keep me up-to-date because I have nothing to compare this to, so maybe the results I am getting are not the results according to specs. I’m getting frustrated on not hearing back about my stock and now realizing that I should be getting 35 shots instead of 20. Do you think this is a Travis question or should I contact pyramid and deal with them?

Is there anyone else out there that could share their experiences with this topic?

Trueshot,
Think Pyramyd is out of the picture unless return defective. Travis will be the contact for warranty concerns. Sounds like our experiences are similar, might just be the nature of the gun. I suspect dry wood stocks might be related to a long wait in a shipping container. Check out any JTS Airacuda Max .25 review, including those at 2022 Shot Show, "backyard friendly" sound levels and 35 shot counts are a common theme. I can live with the gun if accuracy is good and moderator reduces noise to backyard friendly levels, reminds me of my first PCP, an Umarex Gauntlet .25, only twenty shots per fill and loud. WM

My moderator is coming tomorrow!. 35 shots would be so much better. Can you please keep me up-to-date with your findings as I will do the same?

For The Record:

After reading the " Buck-Rail " product description. I decided to get the " .30 cal Moderator " for my .25 cal Rifle.

DONNFL, had a very similar statement (Select a Larger Caliber Moderator, to avoid Pellet Clipping ) on their " Moderator " website.

Quote:

Description

This silencer is 3d printed in super tough Polycarbonate plastic. It features 7 cone-shaped baffles with an expansion chamber at the muzzle exit. The threads are reinforced with a 1/2″-20 steel solid-walled EZ Lok insert. It was was originally tested with the Walther Parrus .177 Caliber Rifle and Crosman 2240XL, but is meant to be compatible with any 1/2″-20 threaded airgun muzzles and adapters and has since been used on many high-powered PCPs. You can select from .177/.22, .25, or .30 caliber options. Please note that the 30 caliber suppressors are not tapered (see below). For some, it may be necessary to drill out the baffles slightly to prevent pellet clipping and accuracy issues. This can be done with minimal affect on report suppression. If you are not comfortable with that please do not purchase.

If yours is also the Max (like WorriedMan’s), meaning the model with a regulator, what you want to do is make sure the hammer spring tension is adjusted properly. Having a lower-than-expected shot count and being loud both suggest there is too much hammer spring tension causing it to waste air.

The way you do that is by starting with low spring tension and gradually increase it until the velocity maxes out. Then back it off until the velocity falls to about 95 to 97% of the maximum. At this point it will no longer be wasting air.

So for example start by backing off the adjuster a full turn, maybe two full turns. The exact amount isn’t important, this is just an arbitrary attempt to start at some reduced velocity. Take a shot and note the velocity. Dial in the adjuster by ¼ or ½ turn to increase the hammer spring tension and take another shot. The velocity should increase. Add another quarter or half turn and check the velocity again. Keep going until the velocity no longer increases. Let’s say it plateaus at 880fps. Now back off the adjuster until the velocity falls to somewhere between 836 and 854fps (calculated as 880*0.95 and 880*0.97, respectively).

Now see what the shot count is.
