My problem is that I never get rid of them. I have way to many air rifles.I too owned an Akela Mike, and really enjoyed that rifle, but bad news is the whispers from the other rifles will continue unabated...![]()
And once they age just a year or so get tough to sell off and you either fire sale or just keep them as safe queens. My problem is that I never get rid of them. I have way to many air rifles.
Oh well
1000Pcs Mixed Multi-size Mini Spring Parts AccessoriesA little look under the hood, but not diving in deep.
The grip is attached via the same annoying method with the pin that is a pain to line up as the AF guns..

as is the forearm, which really is a pain because it doesnt slip off, you must slip it down the length of the pic rail to remove it

I didnt disassemble the trigger group just yet. I was able to access one of the trigger group springs and could see part of another. They looked the same. I tried to find one around here similar but lighter, and tore apart several pens to no avail. Until I can find appropriate springs, I dont see a need to tear down further. Note, the visible spring in this pic is not one I'll replace. The one I mentioned is under the back part of the sear.

I'm not certain how springs are measured, but these are the measurements I came up with and will look around. Assume McMaster Carr will have them.
Width... .1580
Length... .5385
Wire... .0170
Also of note, the rifle held air overnight. Neither the pressure gauge, nor the regulator pressure moved an ounce.
@thammer and others... Feel free to use this post as a 'Master Thread' of sorts. I know you will likely dive in deeper under the hood than I will and so I'll be looking forward to seeing what you do.

Already sent the Amazon link to wife for ordering. She holds the keys to Amazon so I tend to use that to keep it from being taken out of my 'fun account' ;-)$0.97 | 10Pcs SUS304 Stainless Steel Compression Spring Wire Diameter 0.4mm Return Spring Small Spiral Spring Resort 5mm 10mm 20mm 30

Unfortunately, I've been in this hobby long enough to go through a couple purges and had gotten rid of a bunch of inexpensive scopes, parts, springs, etc, etc, etc... of course then I always come back to needing such. Case in point, I near GAVE away a fill station at the Hickory show this past year and came home to find the gauge on my guppy fill station off by a ton. Ah well. Maybe the last purge was the LAST purge until I'm worm food.0.4x4x15mm w
Those should work.
I'm a spring collector it seems. They come in 10s and 20s so you end up with a *few* extras
several hundred various sized return springs I used on my Hatsan Semi auto rifles for adding moderators.
Iseveral hundred various sized hammer springs that I haven't really got around to playing with.
Now i have 1,000 various small springs on the way, ordered a couple days ago.
Definitely a single topic. Then the only complaint will be from the guys who just can’t bear to read multiple pages to solve their life threatening issue. So they will start a topic.@Rob_in_NC yes, let's try to keep it in a single thread. It will definitely help others so they aren't scouring the forum to find help. Thank you for your start.
But still not badWell.... as you already stated... you started this!
So I finished up my other project, at least as much as I'm going to today, and decided to throw a little more lead downrange.
Did a few other groups, but just mainly plinked at steel from 20-65 yards out. I didnt walk up to measure, but it looked like I was around 2 inch groups at 65 yards. That trigger makes accurate shooting difficult.
Did a few more groups at 48 yards. Had thought I was set up at 45, but rangefinder told me differently. Next time I'm motivated to do so, I'll move it to an even 50.
This is representative of what this gun will do with the trigger as is. I did a couple better and a few worse so selected what looked to be an 'average'. You really have to concentrate on that trigger pull. I guess next rainy or cold day, I need to look under the hood and see if I can easily lighten this trigger. I'm sure others will beat me to it if their triggers are the same.

Will do. Just didnt want to dive into tearing it apart without the proper springs in hand. Springs should be in this week and I'll tear it back open and see what we're working with. If the others are as bad as this one, I wont be the only one looking to improve the trigger.I can’t wait to see what all the trigger components look like. So @Rob_in_NC, if it’s not too much trouble, it would be helpful if you snap some pictures of what’s in there and if it’s a nightmare getting it all back together.
Not bad at all. I'm happy with it. Do need to lighten this trigger, but aside from that, not sure I'll do much to it. Giving me good consistency (at least over the 5 shots I ran over the chrony) and good velocity... seems accurate if one can deal with a 6lb trigger pull... I have to say I like it so far.But still not bad... Especially for the price
