Other AirForce Knockoff First Look + Other Pinty Guns

I am not unhappy yet. If Pinty handles the shipping damage properly, I can resolve the trigger issue, thanks thammer for the detail. I will be well pleased with the rifle given those conditions are met and I think they will be. A powerful regulated and moderated .22 PCP lightweight and decent ergos I'm willing to work with the vendor, there is real potential here.

Good deal. I do have a mini lathe and mini mill.... but my 'machining' skills are about that of a chimp with a dremel.. but assuming the barrel is concentric, I can at least do a leade in here. I think I have a .22, .25 and .30 here at the house...somewhere. I've not used them in years though. Had used them on a couple TJ liners back when I was doing a few different builds. and I have dial indicators to check for concentric... so should be good to go!
can you use a small boring tool set for a taper to do lead in? just wondering, I've never done lead in and I don't have any reamers. for lead in.. but I have done some nice crowns with a die grinder on my tool post for the internal taper and the rest with the regular tooling..
does the barrel remove the same way as the Condor? and what caliber are they offering this gun in..
I might be tempted if I could get a .30 caliber as the Texan is a ton of money..
I do agree with you on the bolt being nicer to the side.. and I've been having a fit trying to get a dovetail to dovetail risers.. so I guess it's good that it's got picatinny rail..
do you know if they have open sights available for it or if there's a way to put open sights on it?
I've been shooting 40 grain slugs out of my Condor 22 caliber.. those seem to go through a lot more air than any of the heavy pellets I have.

I will get a video off to Pinty today. The video here details my issue very nicely. The fit of the bolt body to the bore is "rather casual" not quite hammer handle in a bucket but sloppy enough that it jams hard unless guided. Other than that issue? A tray for loading would be most welcome, a tray is not compatible with the design. A device like a snail style capper as used for muzzleloaders would be most welcome.
speaking of loading tray..I have the Condor and I wonder after watching videos of the Texan, why don't they make the barrel protrude more and machine the top 1/3 off like the Texan.. so you can lay the pellets or slugs in the barrel tray and then push in?? any idea why it might not work like the Texan?

Tank and valve will unscrew without tools. Just twist off. Here's the valve. I've not gotten into the guts yet but looks very similar to an AF style. I added that o'ring behind the tophat to see if it helped with efficiency. I've seen it before from others on the AF guns.

From the picture the body seems longer than an AF valve which given the "guts" of an AF valve would mean several CC of plenum.

I literally was thinking yesterday that a longer body valve would be a good thing and how to go about testing that. Easiest would be a 6061 M18 threaded extension. Alternative is manufacture a Valve body threaded m18 male one one end and the female valve threading on the other end.

Plenum are a very good thing. The 50CC on the Huben Power Cricket Max-ATH makes a very big difference on my Talon SS with the high flow valve. The 20CC on the Cricket Z-valve less so but still better than without.

My rifle is boxed and patiently waiting for Pinty to provide a label, They offered a shipping label for return or a 50 dollar discount on the rifle. Since the main receiver tube has damage I elected to request a replacement. The rifle does work after a fashion, I can manipulate the bolt to get it in to battery. Really simple fix for their shipping issue, just unscrew the bolt handle and put it in the parts bag. That's how I packed it for return. That should put their freight damage issue to bed, the rifle is well packed other than the bolt handle. They fix that and improve the trigger greatly it's a heck of a rifle

Does anyone else's P-Force guns regulator have Cricket and a model and US pat # on it ? N/M I saw it on Thammers :)
woo hoo... my P-Force name for this thing might catch on! My reg was a Cricket reg as well. Looks identical to my other Cricket reg I got, to include some of the little bits that came with it.

Nobody1, this is a post I made over at the GTA. There are two of us over there that have the Bullpup and a thread there that details our adventures with these rifles.

Hi John, I have only had my QM23 for two days, and Jared has had his for about a week. With any new gun it is a discovery process to see what works and what needs attention. There is not too much information out there about these guns yet, and every day I discover something new about mine. I published some chrony numbers yesterday, and just today sorted the issue with the scope rail, so only had a chance to shoot a small number of pellets for groups at a short 16 yard distance. I've owned many airguns, some well known at the time, and some that were brand new like this one and at this stage, I am calling this one a keeper. Would I buy it again at the same price...yes! It's a bit of a gamble of course, because who knows about longivity at this point or if parts will ever be available. I went through the same thing with the Notos when it was just released and it has become a huge hit, in somewhat the same price range.

So far I have not done anything to the rifle, it is just out of the box, and I am pretty happy with what I have seen. Could the trigger be better, sure, but it is not bad as it is.The action is pretty smooth and I have not had any feeding issues. My rifle does not make a ping noise in the shot cycle, which is crisp, but Jared said his does ping a bit.

I plan to make a small modification to the safety soon which will just require a very minor scraping with a file. Otherwise, my impressions so far is that the rifle is a great value for the $240/$250 I paid.

I have the M-18 & P-FORCE and although they may look close they are very different. The M-18 does not have a power wheel to adjust. The barrel threads are different. The P-FORCE threads are larger than the M-18. The M-18 has very smooth cocking but my P-FORCE is getting alot smoother with use. Triggers are similar in my opinion. The M-18 is .25 and P-FORCE .22 .
