There are lots of great dovetail scope rings out there. BKL, owned by AirForce are some of my favorite. Air rifles don’t have the kick of a firearm (except springers) so don’t need the over engineering and additional weight of a picatinny rail.
True, though they seem to be getting closer to PB's in the "kick" department with that advertised FPE! ;)

I think the Picatinny rail has become the standard for most, the lower profile is mainly width. The width doesn’t really matter once you install rings and a scope. With the energy these are getting up to it’s like shooting black powder without the smoke. They are slowly approaching the 45-70 gov black powder loads(not quite there) which is amazing to me. 1300-1375fpe so you don’t have to look. I might “need” one.

Probably becasue dovetail provides a lower profile, but most people I know use a picatiny adapter, canceling out the low profile advantage.
On their Utility line, trying to cheek weld to that fat tank cancels out a low profile scope option, and the Texan line looks similar.
FWIW, these UTG inserts keep Pic rings at the dovetail height:
They work well, and even have a scope stop pin for receivers with a stop hole!

Never had a problem with my dovetail rings from BKL slipping on any airgun. Ive used them on my springers and on my .457 texan. No slippage. If you choose cheap scope rings, then they may slip.
