Airforce Texan Bottle keeps Loosening up , Set Screw no More?

So got my airforce texan .257. Put on the bottle with the special made tool. After a short while the bottle came loose wiggly back and forth. I took the special twisty tool to it again but it keeps coming kind of loose. So there is a mention of a set screw that looks like it has the ability to be screwed in. I do not see a set screw but more like a hole where a screw could be used to finally set the airfoce tank in ?

So my question is there a set screw on the texans or only the wrench to be used. I am cranking on this pretty hard to make it set and stay set??

Yea, I am confused. There older condor you would just rotate and screw in the bottle into the frame and I thought but cannot remember if there was another hex nut that would finally screw it in to make sure the bottle/butt of the gun would not come loose. From what I see I have this wrench, I use on the texan and indeed you rotate the wrench to bring the bottle into the frame. It is a slow process but is this the only process to secure the tank ?

The instructions say use the wrench , ok got that. Then there is a SET SCREW below that the instructions mildly mention which does not even look like it is available. There is a hole but not really available with any screw to tighten. So i guess my question to texan uses is the wrench the only thing you need to tighten the bottle into the frame ? Did you do anything with a set screw or any other screws to get the bottle firmly installed ?

ChickenThief. You make it sound like you have have a nut/set screw to do the final tightening of the bottle into the frame ?? I am turning the large wrench piece pretty hard do not want to break or strip anything. Just want to make sure if putting on the bottle is a 1 step or 2 step process and I am missing step 2 ??

The same setup as you but i have the bottle turned with the pressure gauge slightly downward. Seen from behind the bottle is slightly turned counter clockwise.

I fingertighten the nut from the front with my fingers and turn clockwise/tighten the bottle for the final amount.

Might take a try or two but you'll get the hang of it fast.

The best cure for frame flex in Air force guns that cause the bottle to come loose is a good support system. The Maddog stock is the answer.
