Airgun Depot - poor packaging of Pellets

Hello fellow Airgunners. 

Being new to all of this, I am not certain what to expect. I received 10 tins of 500 count JSB .22 Diabolo Airgun Pellets from Airgun Depot. 5,000 count total for the order. I found that each was packaged well with foam siding, but nothing protecting the tops and bottoms. They were stacked 5 at a time and 6 out of the 10 cans are crushed. Is this normal?

While I have already sent a request for assistance to the vendor, what would you all recommend next time?

Mine arrived today very similar. Luckily the 25s are a beefier pellet. I looked through the 4/6 tins that had significant damage and no pellets were bent. I find that 4-5 tin orders arrive in better shape.

PA did the same to my 8 tins of 18gr. Great on the sides, nothing top and bottom, everything crushed.

These tins didn't leave the loading dock in that condition, ( 99% sure)

I recieved 2 shipments from. PA last week, packed in the usual way with NO damage.

UPDATE: They responded back asking for photos, which was strange since I already had sent them photos in the initial email. They wanted to "have something to bring to the warehouse management." I resent the photos and they advised they will get a replacement order setup for me. 

I guess we will see. Just giving a heads up. Maybe they will come through. I just hope the replacement order is packaged better.

My recent order from PA was packed the same as others experienced - with no protection on the top and bottom. I received multiple dented tins. I didn't even bother complaining because their customer service is now useless. They don't answer the phone or respond to emails. Pellets were the last thing that I would order from them. No more, I'm done with PA.

it seems like an almost common theme with all, maybe lack of experienced workers and shortage to people that just don't give a fook.

UPDATE: I asked about what to do with the old pellets and whether I need to return them, etc. I received the following reply:

"Hi Neil.

You can hang on to them. Once the investigation has concluded, you will either receive the original shipment or tracking information for your replacement (Please note replacement orders will require an adult signature). If you wish to be refunded instead, please respond directly to this email. Refunds will be processed in 3-5 business days from the date the investigation has concluded. Thank you in advance for your patience, while we attempt to get this rectified for you. Have a great day!

Just an FYI. Still waiting for more info and how they will address this. Still nothing since my initial email 8/23/21. I am curious though, why should I have to wait for them to complete their investigation? Does it matter to me as a customer? Now mind you I am not in any hurry to get them but just strange. I am going to give them the benefit of the doubt that they are working to ensure no further shipments get damaged.

I wish they as a company would respond on this forum like FX airguns does. You know someone there follows Airgun Nation. It is reassuring to at least know these companies are aware of what is going on.

Final Update:

So long was the "claims process" that I even started getting automated messages stating that if I don't reply, my case will be closed. What a joke. I asked for a refund and another email reply that they are behind on there claims processing. Don't care. 

Submitted dispute with my credit card company. Will never shop there again. Very poor experience.

Interesting 'packing' of a recent pellet order. Ordered through Pyramyd Air, but shipped from Utah = Airgun Depot.

Mine were all packed with top and bottom protection. Funny thing was that they packed small tins of pellets into foam from which they had removed the large circle of foam! And all of the removed foam circles were scattered throughout the box as extra packing padding. Amazingly no damage to these though.

I suppose everyone has bad luck but I have had good experience with PA and AD the few shipments I've received from them. Good luck getting this resolved...curious though does this affect the pellets? Do they get damaged???

Pellet skirts can get fairly easily deformed = inconsistent accuracy. Tins of pellets jumping around freely in a box during transit will in and of itself lead to more skirt deformation. Pellets which arrive with dented tins... well even more deformation.

Really not all that much of an issue if most of your shooting is plinking inside 50 yards. But start to stretch it out and any pellet damage shows itself rather quickly. And the bad one always seems to be the 5th shot of a 5 shot group!
