AirGun laws for Pa.

Just curious as to what restrictions might be in place for PA. in regards to buying & selling airguns. Any issues .
I'm in PA, I've purchased 2 airguns from AR , just pay online or by phone & wait for the brown or white w/ color truck to drop off at the door. I've purchased from dealers all over the US & in house at NEAG's & UAG's . I know of no restrictions as far as purchasing unless the 18yr.s age comes into play at dealers. I purchased a springer in California w/o issue & drove it cross country home . You may have local restrictions in certain townships or cities , therefore I'd
contact local sheriffs / police stations.

1. As delineated in PA. Title 18 Section 6304: this title does NOT preempt local ordinances.

2. If your sound moderator can be directly threaded on to a powder burner, it is considered a silencer and requires all the BAFTE paperwork to own.

PA Law enforcement use PSA ranges for qualifying and requalifying and a PA Constable did ask me what thread dimensions the can on my 30 cal M3 used.

It's usually not the states that are the worst offenders when it comes to airgun restrictions, but the municipalities. State laws regarding airguns are virtually nonexistent here, but the city I live in bans the discharge or carrying of literally any projectile weapon. If you're carrying a slingshot or using it to shoot rocks into the water you're breaking the law.

Eventually I'm just going to move to a more free state. I've got family, job, etc... that are keeping me here for the moment, but I'll be retiring in a few years and at that point I'm outta here. For the time being, there's no point in getting in trouble over something stupid. This place just keeps getting more restrictive every year and the people here keep voting for more restrictions.

Washington was a paradise till 5 or so years ago. So far my airguns are safe, PB's not so much.
Yep, the only major restriction we had was no full auto. Now, we’re arguably worse off than California and there’s a whole slew of new bills pending.

It’s not just the gun laws though. An income tax seems inevitable as does rent control and that’s just the tip of the iceberg. A 3 bedroom house outside of Seattle will cost you $500,000 and the property taxes will be around $5000 per year.

Interesting about Washington state. My niece and her husband who works for Microsoft left the state a couple of years ago because it got stupid expensive to live in the Seattle area. Neither has an interest in shooting but at least this is a state and city with few restrictions on firearms and none I can find on airguns.

ALWAYS go the source. Ask law enforcement, lawyers, etc...
Don't be fooled into thinking either of those will know the actually gun laws. I know this as a fact dealing with both over a couple decades. Most of them dont know, have been told incorrectly, or go on how they feel or think on the subject as a matter of fact.
You can look up the state statues and city ordinances on firearm/weapon violations and know the actual laws and not just hearsay or opinions.

NO ONE should be fooled by partially reading then cherry picking apart a full statement! Notice etc... Not helpful at all directing anyone from consulting and or going to the source!!!

Who's cherry picking your advice? YOU can ask a LEO, a lawyer, even ask a Walmart greeter and believe any information they can give you, thats totally up to you. But the SOURCE would be the actual laws on the books, that would give you the factual information and not hearsay or opinions...if that's what your after.

SO, as I mentioned to begin with, go to the SOURCE! You clearly mentioned EITHER and that reference was, the cherry-picked portion to what exactly, lawyers, law enforcement. Now you're into Walmart greeters?!?!?

Walmart greeters are like barbers. They're an extremely authoritative source.

ALWAYS GO TO THE SOURCE,that is a correct statement.
ASK LAW ENFORCEMENT, LAWYERS,ECT, that is a incorrect statement.

Your statement reads to ask law enforcement, lawyers, ect., like they are supposed to know and be a reliable source of information, which they aren't.
Unless somehow I'm not reading it correctly.

OK, so you are trolling at this point just admit it. To say law enforcement is not a reliable source of information would be example of how you are wrong and just here to make have an argument and give poor advice. Do you not have a grasp of etc. in the statement? By your rationale no lawyer or law enforcement should ever be consulted because they are always wrong... brilliance right there!

Trolling LOL....My bad, I didn't realize you were from New York. I can understand why you have a hard time and the inability to see any rational or facts not of your own . Im sure the citizens of New York flock to law enforcement seeking advice on gun related issues and follow their stellar advice as the law of the land, because information from law enforcement is never bad or wrong. Being those who live in New York are know for being law abiding citizens, like all democratic controlled cities and those serving in law enforcement elsewhere are trying to get to New York, where their law enforcement are known to be the cream of the crop and appreciated by all its citizens.
