Airgun reviews

I will watch some, but never believe them. None of them really ever get into the trigger characteristics. About like the karma sls out now. All the videos say awesome trigger, but it is in no way comparable to my M3 trigger and a world away from the Delta. Any semiauto needs to get on board with Huben and make a good trigger.

Mike Ellingsworth and Tinbum have great videos. They aren't "reviews" of rifles. The "pellets and pistons" vato does good reviews and covers the bases pretty well. The Pyramid videos aren't a waste of time.

For "reviews" your generally getting a person's first impressions. That has limited value but can be helpful to compare features. Most of these Youtubers are as green as grass and trying to offset the cost of a purchase by making an "unboxing" video. They don't really know the rifle nor do they have enough trigger time to give you much info.

Every tender foot with a gopro is an expert on You Tube.

I watched EVERY video I could find on any of the airguns I bought and even many I didn't but that all came to a screeching halt after one review.

The JTS MAX was reviewed completely as far as we knew, "great beginner gun", on and on.

I ordered one and immediately found the stock inletting defect followed by the banana'd shroud defect followed by the hammer vent hold defect and finally, the moderator adapter defect!

I fixed them all, Travis sent me a printed block but the rest was on me.

Then the guy that reviewed the POS posted his evaluation copy for sale and indicated that his copy still had the defects intact.

The review was all lies, no truth.

I watch Steve's reviews only now.

How many of you pay any attention to influencer/reviewers who review airguns and related equipment?
I watch mostly to learn how to replace a seal for instance. I have noticed the ones that claim they tested 10 pellets and will let you know which one works best in your gun are not worth it, every gun of even the same model will shoot different. Pellet "testing" is a personal thing you have to work out with your gun.

Legit? I would have to say yes. Completely honest? I would have to say no. And yes I’ve watched what he had to say about a couple guns I’ve owned and have completely figured out. I let the first gun slide because 90% of the people who owned that gun had issues and they were all over every forum. The next gun I decided to ask some questions. He’s too smart to be oblivious to issues and exceptionally wise not to argue about them. Doesn‘t want to bite the hand that feeds him but I had to try. But I will say this. If you want to watch a review and are fully aware that the guy is not going to tell you everything, watch his. He tries the hardest to give you as much as possible without biting that hand. Then come to a forum where we bite hands like hamster.

Well I cant say I have seen them all for sure, just out of the guns I have owned he was closer than most. Yes ,I come to the forum to get the real deal on what is and what is not.

I’ve only watched two for sure but maybe a third that I can’t remember. When I have a buddy who is interested in a gun and wants to have late night glow face as he debates his purchase, I tell them if that dude reviews the gun, it’s about the best you can hope for.

Also pay attention to what is not stated in reviews. If you're wondering about an aspect of the gun that isn't touched upon in a "review" then it is likely something to be mindful of. Many videos that some might call "reviews" are actually unboxing advertisements fueled by sponsors exchanging air guns or airgun related products for a favorable review. Omission isn't always a lie, but it can make a review less thorough. Be careful who you listen to.

I will ad to previous post that I have unsubscribed from channels that have deviated from any entertainment value to coming off as just trying to sell you something. I know that is the goal of these YouTubers but there are differences. Take Rick’s channel. He does all kind of different shooting. Paper, steel, trick shots etc. That has entertainment value and is fun. Same with Nate’s channel A+ as it’s entertaining. Other channels have migrated to more of a message that you need this or that particular brand or accessory(ies). No real entertainment and they are gone off my list.
