Hi we use airguns as part of our firearms training how do you guys feel about a full training program using airguns currently we use the Glock 17 and Baretta APX
Hello airguns definitely have a spot in helping with firearms training but you need to isolate the skills you are looking to work on or enhance, as I don't think you can get every thing done with just an airgun. Sight alignment-yes, trigger pull-Maybe(does your trigger work the same way as your firearm /trigger reset), grip-yes, reload drills-maybe (depending on the gun)(are you dropping mags) tac mag changes-yes, malfunction drills-No, I think you can do a lot with an airgun but I don't think every aspect can be accomplished. Its a great idea and with the price of ammo and the benefits airguns have to offer, minimal recoil and low noise it makes a lot of sense. In the end I think once all the skills have been isolated and accomplished you will probably have to introduce a real firearm to put it all together, Just my opinion Eric
You are dangerously close to conflating airguns and firearms. This site is for AIRguns. Tread carefully as the management does not tolerate discussion of FIREarms here. There are thousands of other web sites to discuss boom booms.
Of particular concern is the hard and fast rule that AIRguns ate not considered acceptable for self or home defense.
Welcome to AGN. Hope your experience is a good one.
