Airjavelin pro vs airsaber elite x2

Greetings,

I was looking at getting one of the pcp arrow guns from umarex. I like the airjavelin pro for its size and the airsaber elite X2 for cool follow up shot.

My concern with the airjavelin is its been around as a c02 gun for some time and I can't find anyone doing much more then target practice with it. Meanwhile the airsaber elite x2 is newer and there are all kinds of hunting and other videos.... Is there a reason people don't do much with the airjavelin?

Another consideration is if I wanted to set it up for bow fishing. Would the smaller airjavelin work better then the longer airsaber?

What do you all think is better for me, The airjavelin pro or airsaber elite X2?

I have the Air Javelin Pro, but don't have an Air Saber, so it's hard for me to say, but from the specs alone, the Air Saber is more powerful and probably have a longer range than the Air Javelin Pro. I have just shot mine at targets and beyond around 30 yards the accuracy drops, so it's more of a close in gun. If you could figure out how to attach the required parts, I feel the Air Javelin would be a great bow fishing set up. You can attach rails and other accessories (I have a quiver attached) to both sides, so it may be doable.

The air javilin pro is much less power than either of the Air Sabers.. Now that being said the air javalin pro is regulated!!! Each shot is the same.velocity not dropping with each shot... For air.fishing the the less power and constantly of the fps on each shot will be better!!! Now of you are hog or deer hunting I go.with the regular single barrel airsaber... Full 22inch arrow 376 grains at 460 fps. Crossbows that shoot with that kinda speed and accuracy are way over $2,000. The regular airsaber I have has been the best money I've spent on airgun s. I have a external regulator I hook to my airsaber and at 3400 psi its right at 460 fps in the winter.. With UTG 130 hrs scope I can hit the target at 120 yards just like in the reviews. My friend got the x2 double same time I got my airsaber, its side cocking leaver is nice but its heavier. Also for long range I don't trust the consistency of the second barrel to many variables.. my regular airsaber has been a much better experience by far than my Texan. The stock is awesome👍 the trigger is decent, more accurate than Umarex arrows. It was almost boring I didn't have to tinker with it at all. It is a air hog so definitely buy a compressor.. I wouldn't wanna hand pump.. You need 500 fps targets to stop arrows with either airsaber, there $160.00. Air javelin pro could use regular cheap crossbow target.

I own the AirSaber and AirJavelin, the standard versions.
Which one to chose comes down to what you intend to do with it. The Javelin has shorter and lighter arrows as well as lower speed on the shots, the Saber is reverse.

I'd say the Javelin is good enough to hunt rabbits and similar sized mammals/birds. The Saber on the other hand can easily take down deer, hogs and animals like that. You would never hunt moose with a Javelin but the Saber might be powerful enough but I don't know the recommended energy.

Saber manual says: 169 ft. lbs with 376 grain arrow at 450fps
Javelin Co2 manual says: 34 ft. lbs with 170 grain arrow at 300fps

Couldn't find the manual for the Saber X2 but umarexusa website FEATURES state 450 fps with 376 grain arrow for 135+ ft. lbs.
Couldn't find the manual for the Javelin Pro but umarexusa website FEATURES state 370 fps with 170 grain arrow for 52 ft. lbs.

So the standard Saber seems to be more powerful than the X2 but it's the reverse for the Javelin. Why the 2 Sabers are different I have no idea since both are listed as having the same powers output
There is a Co2 to HPA converter for the Javelin Co2 available from Umarex, I might buy it in the future or simply go for the Javelin Pro instead.

As for bowfishing I guess it depends on the depths you intend to hunt at? I've never done bowfishing so don't know what power is needed to hit a fish under water.

Here is one way of looking at it: With the Saber you can do EVERYTHING you can do with the Javelin but the Javelin can NOT do everything that Saber can do.
