Airmaks fill probe dia?

Hi All,
I brought my Airmaks Katran on a trip with me and forgot the fill probe. I ordered a couple from Amazon with 1 and 2 day shipping, but both are too large to fit the fill port. The first one said 9mm OD. The second said 8mm, but when it arrived it was the same as the first. Must be 9mm hose attachment. Before I waste more time and money, does someone know the correct fill fitting diameter? Or have calipers and an Airmaks?

The fill probe for my Caiman is about 7mm in the area where the o-rings are. That area is about 14mm long. The main body is more like 8.5mm. The very short area where the air comes out is a bit smaller, I did not measure that.

Thanks Jim. I'll see what I can find. Very helpful measurements. I'm feeling pretty foolish having gone through packing it up and checking it into the airline, renting a scuba tank, hauling it all and setting everything up.... only to be able to take 4 low pressure shots.

The closest I found on Amazon was one for an Artemis or SMK. They were the only 7 mm fill probes I found. I don't like the brass ones that come with the AirMaks guns I have so I ordered one of the SMK's to see if I can alter it to work in my guns. This is the one I ordered.

That one looks different from my Caiman fill probe but it looks a lot like the Huma Air fill probe that they say works for a Katran so I hope it works for you. If you want a spare, the Huma Air one is cheaper and made of stainless steel. I've only ordered a rebuild kit for a Huma regulator from Huma but they were fine to deal with - but in Europe so shipping took awhile.

Amazon order came today, it doesn't fit. Where the hex is positioned on the probe it does not let it go in deep enough. But if you're looking for one I did find them at Utah air guns. 15 bucks a piece so I ordered one for each gun. They're from Huma. This one will go back to Amazon. oh well

Drats. I ordered the same one this morning for delivery tomorrow. I'm only on vacation till Saturday, so I had to give Amazon a try. UA won't make it on time. Live and learn!

Overnight shipping? Fastest used to be to put a small package on a flight then go pick it up. Probably not possible but Federal Express still offers overnight shipping. UPS has "next day air". The helpful thing about this is the probe is small and light and not terribly delicate.

My father does have a lathe in his shop, which hasn’t been touched since he passed years ago. Maybe I’ll get a bit creative…

I’d really hate to waste an open 30 acres and a 12 yo niece who really wants to learn.

Works with my Krait but it's too short for the Caiman. The major OD on the altered fill probe is an aluminum sleeve

I was going to send it back to Amazon but I knew I was taking a gamble.

My replacement fill probes came from UA today. If you're buying these two replace the one on a Caiman or Caiman x don't waste your time or your money they don't work. They're way too short The shoulder bottoms out on the wooden stock you would have to remove your optics, the bottom half and the top half of your stock in order for this to work.

Yeah these are manufactured by Huma but I bought them through UA. According to them it fits the Kraits, Caimans and I don't remember if anything else. I had my doubts it would fit. I'll keep one for my Krait and I don't know if I'll keep the second one or send it back.
