AirMaks Krait Air bros review SA

There are many other choices. It’s not like a guys only other choice is a FX. My RTI is not overshadowed by my M3’s. It’s actually better in a lot of ways.
RTI Prophet 2 was in my mind. but when i spoke with my gun dealer he pushed the Krait more. and told me about some manifactoring issues in the RTI. And when i checked their website and saw there is a new Prophet 3 "2.1" in the making i just went for the Krait.

Sheesh, your dealer must be getting a kickback from Airmaks. He steered you wrong. I had no intentions on shooting slugs out of my Prophet 2 but a dude on here was trying so I figured I would put some through my gun to see how they did on my 33.95gr pellet tune. Tried 3. Two different slugs did quite well.
he might! 🤷‍♂️ but to be honest i feel the gun has good potintials, but need some pimping or tweaking to find that sweet spot for all. its what makes it intresting 😅

I need help on figuring out how to smooth "chamfer" the breach in the Krait HP barrel!? i noticed that ledge and how it cliped the slugs on their way to seat in.

i think it might fix its accuracy issues! or at least would roll out one issue!

also, i noticed 2 spots in the barrel that bite on the slugs what ever their cal. may be " i tried .216, .217 and .218" in the first inch after the transfer port and the last inch and half before the exit. polishing may fix that?! idk!? FYI all HP barrels have no choke.

That aint looking right, you should get a new barrel i think ( with my modest knowledge of rifling and chambering )
Or ? maybe we do not talk chambering for airguns as really its just the projectile, and i understand chambering is to make the cartridge seat properly.
i think it work the same with air rifles. since you need to seat that projectile correctly in the barrel and undamaged.
i have 2 barrels from AirMaks, both are HP one for L modle "540mm" and the other for the X model "700mm" and both have the same cut out on the breach and the rifling.

i bought few dremel tips to get in there. but i'm still going back and forth thinking about it! i don't want to screw it up! 😅

So, I went to town with those Dremel tips and i think the picture will speak for it self! 😅

** unfortunatlly i didn't take any pictures of the barrel! 🤦‍♂️ was so excited to intall it on the gun! any how i have a bore cam on its way by mail, so i will take better pictures of the bore in near future.
i will try to shoot the gun tomorrow or over the weekend and see if it helped the accuracy issue! 🤞

Seems ELBOW GREASE has paid off! 😅 these are some 5 shot groups at 52.6 Yrds. after polishing the barrel. Also as of now the only caliber that works for me is 0.217 .. i tried ZAN and H&N "washed and lightly oiled".
@50Yrds give or take, reduced the group size from 2inchs to less than an inch "almost half an inch!!".
Also, you may noticed the group are spread side ways! thats because when ever any of the other shooting lanes send or retract their targets, my target sway side ways like a belly dancer! 💃

Your thoughts and comments are welcome guys 😅

Well for about 50 yards i am not super duper impressed, when my Maverick .177 was best though horrible slow shooting ) 280 FPS ) i was almost putting pellet on pellet at 50 Meters.
These days shooting almost 2 X faster i have not yet gotten the maverick to do that again, but i am also generally shooting 75 meters, but there i can hold my shots on a 2" target.
Going shooting again today ( just about 3 AM here ) so after sleeping 2-3-4 hours around noon i will be slinging lead again,,,,, i do go to bed after this post though, but i am used to spend at least 5 hours in bed not sleeping before my grey goo grant me access to Zzzzz land.
I hope, some times i lie 10 hours in bed before i fall asleep, some times after 6-7 hours of trying i just give up and get out of bed, its a mess here :)

Mind you your groups have a nice consistency to them, so i am sure they can get even better as is.
For sure i would try this for a while, maybe experiment a little with speed.

Like Pea said, your groups don’t have fliers. At least not at 50 yards. You’re over the first hurdle. You can either try to tighten things up now or just test them at your maximum range. If they don’t open up much it will be up to you if you call it a day.
Ooh i had some fliers. I tried H&N 34gr. 0.218 and JSB K.O. 25gr 0.217 & 0.216. The 0.216 were the worst by far! so i won't waste my money on 0.216's what ever the brand may be.
H&N Heavies "34gr." gave me some wiered groups! super tight on the first three shots then 2 fliers 3" apart from where my POA! i was lucky to hit the paper tbh! 😅

On the chopping block, Javlins and NSA's next. after finding the ones that she likes, then i will streach the distance.

Any way thanks for your inputs 🍻 and welcome for any more!

Yup it isn't that much, I'd rather on top of each other tbh! but looking at what it was and what it looks now, for sure its better! 😅
i was thinking to repolish again, but i might strip out the rifling! 🤣
just to compare..

I had a good time shooting yesterday, took the Maverick to 82 M, first with the STX barrel and then later the heavy barrel which for some reason the 13 gr Zan slugs now work in.

I forgot to take some pictures but in spite of me never really getting the shot string to be as flat as i would assume it should be, well then the 2" shoot NC targets way out there got turned into Swiss cheese , and shots missing them was rare :)

Also i used all of my 700 mm barrel and so at a measly 60 BAR on the regulator i was pushing the 13 grain Zan at just over 1000 FPS
From there i went up in regulated pressure until i hit 100 BAR. but i really was not able to get a really flat shot string, also accuracy dident really change substantial no matter what i tried, i firmly blame this on my unability to get a flat shot string.

The reason i was able to shoot that fast with that little pressure ( not even using pin probe but do use high flow port )
Well i use a heavier hammer in brass ( part of a kit of 2 hammers and pin probe from Huma )

Clearly the PPL that use the ultra short valve opening and high pressure approach in a long gun, well they do not use all of their barrel to accelerator the pellet / slug for sure.

I was going to try 50 BAR on the regulator, but i am pretty sure the 60 BAR i was already at are very close to the minimum a FX regulator can do, well at least without messing the the washers on the REG.

Next week = no fun time, rain rain and more rain in the forecast.
The hottest ever July they talk about, well July in Denmark must be damn close to the coldest one ever.

50BAR seems too low! won't you think? as i know 80 to 100 BAR is a sweet spot for regulators to work!
did you tried to use a heavier slugs insteadof the lighter ones that you are using now? you might get a flater shot string with 21gr. slugs with your current REG/ Hammer setting.

as for me with the KRAiT and the Airforce Condor, i found 130 - 150BAR slings slugs @950 - 970fps which a good speed for slugs as everyone said. but still i'm struggling with accuracy too! and need some further tweaking.
I'm planning to get FX Chrono tomorrow and ditch my old light cell Chrono because i shoot mostly indoors lately or at night. You mentioned July! Bro you didn't face July in KUWAIT! 🤣 it a freakin pizza oven! 🤣🤣 the past week, 50c all day long! and at sun rise which should be colder, it would be 42c!! 🫠

It is indeed freaky, i can only assume the heavier hammer keep things open for longer, but since i can keep a speed that high on the output i just assume i am using the barrel for longer.
Increasing REG pressure up to 100 BAR only make the rifle shoot slower, so the increased pressure on the valve must shut it faster.
But at the low pressure the regulator was at least as consistent as it is at a higher REG pressure, but yes it is probably on the verge of collapsing.

I did not get around to try the really heavy slugs i have, which are 20 grain, CUZ the change to the heavy barrel was in the end of the day and i was getting bored, also my friend was on the BBQ at the time making dinner so i knew my time was limited with the heavy liner.

But i left it in the rifle and i am going to shoot with that barrel too when the Danish summer stop pretending to be winter. ( July on track to me the #3 - 2 wettest July on record )
And i think also one of the colder ones as temperatures barely been over 20 deg C and normally in July it use to be more than that though the absolute record for Denmark are 32-33 deg C, but we might only get 2-3 30 deg C days in a summer, and it is very rare to get 2 of those in a row.
This year we have not been close to 30 deg C, not even just 1 time.

I have visited the middle east, once bunkering off Oman, the PPL on the bunker barge was dropping like flies with heat stroke as their aircondition had failed, our engineers was over there but could not fix it.
I was standing guard on the deck watching the fule hose with a plastic bag filled with ice cubes and little holes poked in the plastic, and i was still cooking but at least my head was cold.

A ship engine room, well in areas like that there are places where the sweat evaporate as soon as it come out of you, and you can not touch the metal there without wearing gloves,
I have also often been in 200 deg C ovens ( powder painting ) with regular work clothe on and your painters air mask on to breathe, well you only want to be in there very short.
Also been in even hotter places getting my education as a firefighter / smoke diver, there you must cool a room on the outside walls / door before you can chance to open the door and put out the fire.
But more manageable as you ware proper firefighting clothe and a proper breathing apparatus, still you can feel the heat there and some also pass out and need to be extracted.
Also some will suck a 12 L dive bottle dry so fast you would think there is a 10 mm hole in the tank.
