AirMarksman Backbone Rail Comments

This is something I discovered and wanted to share. Might not be a big deal for some, but, the change affected my cheek weld and scope height enough on my M3 that I thought others needed to know.
First off I really like the one piece design that allows perfect (subjective) alignment to all the lowers that connect to it. Added stiffness and a change in harmonics are bound to be positive.
I received my 30MOA "short" in black for the M3 and if I liked it I would get another one for the MKII. I have my scopes mounted in Eagle Vision quick release ring to quickly mount them on either gun. With a caliber adjustment in Strelok I'm ready to go.
Well, I popped my scope on the new AirMarksman M3 and went out to make adjustments due to the new "30 MOA" I realized I couldn't get a proper cheek weld to find the eyebox @10x. My neck was all torqued to an uncomfortable position. This change all due to a bit more than a 1/4" cheek height loss from the thicker rear part of the backbone. I can obviously raise my scope up a 1/4" with the adjustable rings, but that's not the point. The new AirMarksman rail added 1/8" to my scope to bore height, which is 3.25". To add another 1/4" is, well, another 1/4" in the wrong direction. This might be nit-picky, but sometimes small details can have a big impact, especially on my neck. I can also fabricate a new replacement cheek piece that is 6.63mm (1/4") slimmer than the stock piece @10mm to get my 1/4" back. This is not necessarily "plug and go" for everyone, as some upgrades can be challenging.
Again, I just wanted to share the differences between stock and the new AirMarksman for those who can make the necessary modifications and for those who can't.
I am satisfied and will buy another for the MKII.
Here are some photo measurements.

Thanks a bunch, Patrick. It’s too bad that AM didn’t let all know in their product description of the rail that this may require the need for taller mounts. I’m not into raising the no limit mounts up that high with their one bolt set up. I may look into a cantilever Mount to see if it automatically raises the scope enough to regain proper cheek weld
