I recently purchased the AirMarksman M4 Impact "Copper" Backbone after seeing a couple of videos on YouTube advertising it. The "Nail in the Coffin" which pushed me to purchase it was a recent Utah Airguns "Walk through Wednesday" video where it was displayed mounted on a Copper M4. I paused that video for about an hour and watched it full length probably 4 times to convince myself it was the "Real Deal". I "Pulled the Trigger" and made the purchase. It arrived safe and sound a few days later and I eagerly opened the box. Upon removing it from the tube it ships in, There it was.. and my heart sank instantly. "That's not Copper" I thought to myself so I checked the label to verify the item I ordered. Copper was boldly printed on the tube so I thought "Maybe its the lighting in this room". I grabbed my pristine, brand new M4 Copper and the Backbone and headed to the garage where the lighting is crisp "Daylight" 5000k LED. I set the rail down so it was lying at the top of the gun. "That definitely isn't a match the the FX Copper anodizing". Not only was the color lighter, more Gold than Copper, the texture was way off. FX Bead Blasts the M4 Copper parts before anodizing to give them a Satin texture. The Backbone had not been textured prior to anodizing and had a "Shiney" smooth finish. Completely disappointed I fired off an email to Utah Airguns explaining the situation. I stated that I fully understand that anodizing batches can run different and asked that they check on hand stock to see if they can find one closer in appearance to the the FX Copper. The weekend passed and I checked back in on Monday. I was told the Backbones they had in stock had all been checked and they matched the appearance of the one I had received. I requested to return it as it wasn't as advertised and did not match the Copper anodizing of my M4. I was advised on how to return it and that a "Restocking Fee" would apply. I then asked if a return shipping label would be supplied and was advised that return shipping would also be an additional expense to me. I boxed it up and sent it on it's way. In the end, it ended up costing me $52 out of pocket (Restocking fee + initial and return shipping) to once again discover that you cannot trust the advertising from most of the Dealers and Manufacturers in this industry and none of the Hype posted on social media from them. This is the second time in a year that I have been mislead to believe that the items you are selling are true representations of the product advertised. So bottom line.. the AirMarksman Backbone that is advertised as a match for the FX Impact M4 Copper anodizing is NOT a match, it isn't even close. BUYER BEWARE.
