My Mrod air max, with a donny KOI moderator, has a loud pop sound coming from the breech door and air escapes forceful enough to blow tissue into two pieces ! A gunsmith replaced breech o rings. I want it quieter, mouse quiet. Are other adjustments available ?

Open the breech fully and try to screw the barrel in further till it rotates the barrel bushing you will see it rotating as you screw the barrel in all the way.

I tightened barrel till bushing rotated. Still loud pop sound, seems to come from the breech and door ?

Sure sounds like that breech O-ring needs to be replaced with a thicker one or lazy way is to carefully take it out and soak it in Alphabet org quick fix stop leak for a day to swell it up then flip it around and put it back. See if that does it. If not then you will probably need to shim that swing out breech gate to force added tension for a much better seal or just lower the power significantly but you probably don't want that now do you?

Oh forgot to mention if yours is a 177 then it will be inherently louder than a quiet 22 with a POP sound at the breech area. The only way to get that POP to turn into a mouse is to replace it with a 22 caliber barrel. If yours already is a 22 then we can proceed further.

The pistol is a .22. I am shooting JSB 15.8 gr, approx 525 fps.

That breech O-ring around the barrel partially obstructed by that swing out gate carefully remove it then go to ACE Hardware and find a replacement in their faucet and plumbing section same size and another a little fatter just imagine you're going to put it inside the breech where you took the old one out. Also look for one same size made of delrin it's either white or black looks like plastic washers similar to that o-ring but the edge is not rounded like the o-ring. Keep your receipt. Ask a worker for help if you get lost. If you have Alphabet org quick fix transmission stop leak soak your old o-ring after finding a matching size first.

Do you have either these tools? If replacing the o-ring doesn't do it then this the worst case scenario you will need one of these. Degass the gun empty then tighten that valve face the silver round piece the hammer strikes the pin there are 4 holes you see them tighten clockwise but gun must be degassed all of the air gone first.

Or maybe if you have a Kaliburgun or Taipan othe roll pins that comes with them may fit you use a large screwdriver in between to torque it clockwise instead of the tools or maybe from some other Russian or Ukranean or Czech gun may have pins like this you can use.

Take out the transfer port restriction grub screw on the top of the swing out breech block. Shine a flashlight down into it and look down your barrel like you want to shoot your eye out. Make sure your transfer port hole is centered in your barrel. If not, you can adjust where the block stops with the tiny screw. All of you guys should check your guns also.

ONE of mine in 177 still has a POP to it and its TP IS ALREADY lined up properly in relation to breech just checked as you suggested and I didn't need to adjust anything.

I took a few thousands off the muzzle end of my valve. It allows me to tighten the valve a smidge tighter which in turn brings the swing breech block into contact with the breech face which sealed up the pop. It will likely wear the o-ring faster but they're replaceable!
