Make sure there isn’t any burrs on the gun where the magazine goes. I had a gun that I had to take a stone to it to get the burrs off because I had the same problem. It wasn’t the Akela though.On my Akela If the magazine isn’t lined up properly When you go to put it in, it won’t slide in right. I usually put a thin coat of silicone oil on my magazines sometimes too.
I have no experience with this rifle, so this may not be applicable. Many rifles have some room for slightly adjusting the barrel position with the set screws. I have a couple with which I need to use a magazine to get the proper fit when installing the barrel.
That set screw is what puts tension on the charging lever to keep it from popping open when you fire the rifle. I took an allen wrench for my scope mounting screws and made a "Z" shape out of it to adjust that screw to adjust tension on the lever .
