All in one optic! Glass, Rangefinder, Video recorder, Ballistic Calculator, and more....

While a day/night optic wont be the choice for everyone, it does provide some unique options for airgunners. One of the most unique is the ability to calculate your holdover after you input you ballistics data. Anyone know of cheaper options that can do these things? I am curious....

I have this scope but without the LRF. I don't use the rubber eye shade, I find it very annoying. Having said that, I don't have any difficulty seeing the menu or the reticle without it. I'm not a fan of the funky looking sun shade on the front of the scope. I'd have preferred if they had just offered a full sized sunshade instead. This I could drill a cheap lens cover for a better depth of view, like I do for my ATN scopes. I am also having a hard time getting the color to look natural. My DNT Zulus has the best looking picture, on screen in the scope and when viewing the recorded video, and it's only 1080P, I was expecting much better from the NV400 since it's 4K.

Things I like are the fact it can be mounted with regular 30mm rings, which opens a lot of possibilities when mounting to different airgun, like being able to use dovetail mounts if needed. The menu system has a lot of options and offers a ton of adjustability. I also like the ability to record at 120 Frames per Second to give some great slow motion effects when processing the video. It also boots 4X fast than my ATN X-Sight 5!

Some improvements needed: The ability to calibrate the auto recording for an airgun! ATN did it with the 4K Pro (although they haven't witht he X-Sight 5). It's a great feature when it works, but most PCP airguns don't have enough recoil to activate it.

I did just order the newest version of the Rangefinder, the RF1300 from OnLeaf. The website says it's compatible with the NV400, so I guess I'll see when it arrives. It appears the older version (RF1000) is still available through OneLeaf, but the RF1300 looks to be smaller and it was the same price as the older version, so why not try the newest one?

I am pretty certain to pull the trigger on the NV500 when a check I am waiting on shows up. I see no reason to go with the 400. I'm very intrigued with the flexibility of using it on both PB's (up to .308) and air guns. Darn guns are gonna need wheels! I do like that the LRF and IR torch are QD to strip it down some. Also looks like they reduced the weight with the 500. The 500 has the Sony Starvis 2 4k image sensor. If the scope were a car? The Sony Starvis 2 is the engine.
My gig prior to retirement was in digital imaging. Radiography to be exact, my other "hobby" is photography.
Seems to me the perfect item to perch upon my guns, despite it's weight. I am a bit of a tech junkie. :)

I agree with going for the NV500 over the NV400. Despite everything on the OneLeaf website that says the newer RF1300 Range Finder is compatible with the NV400, OneLeaf contacted me last night and had me send them a picture of the QR Code on the bottom of my scope to confirm the manufacture date of the scope to determine if it is in-fact compatible. I bought my NV400 in June this year (2024) so it's only 6 months old, but guess what? It's not compatible with the new RF1300. They wanted to send me the older version for the same price, but I just cancelled the order. The newer model is smaller and ships from within the US, the older one is bulkier and it would have shipped from China! Oh well, I've been getting by without the LRF, so I guess I will continue to do so...

Well I got the check, I'll order up my new NV500 Monday. I'm going to start off with just the 30 mm lens, but will get the LRF too. The 30 mm is the better lens and I prefer close to 1:1 at the bottom end. I can always add the 50 or greater if needed. Fun stuff! I'm also ordering up more magazines and the speedloader from Hatsan for my Blitz. While the big 41 rounder is appealing, filling it is not. Hatsan has a speedloader for the 21 round mags. I think I have some Weaver mounts to give it a go on my old .270 that rifle has always been a laser beam.
