Huben All Things HUBEN GK1 (air pistol) - Master Thread

Man I remember I had pellet stuck between the magazine and barrel one time in my gk1 .177,
and I just casually grabbed my long cleaning rod kit and just pushed the stuck pellet back while Wiggling the magazine Slightly back and forth to let the pellet get back in the mag!!!
Now I wonder what if pistol fires itself during me trying to push it back next time if it ever happen again ???
Anyone any idea if there Is a chance of gk1 self firing while me trying to push the stuck pellet back into the magazine???
so the reason for pellet getting stuck to my knowledge is,
either a pellet is tad skinny on the skirt side which allows it to slip farther into the barrel and then causing the mag to get stuck and not letting me fill the rest of the mag,
and also those groves inside each hole of the mag that suppose to hold the pellet from slipping into the barrel are losing their hold ability!!!
and I don’t even use my pistol that much honestly!!!
But I do love to try all different types of shapes in .177 cal from 6gr to 10.5gr

I assume that before you do that, you will let the air out of the tube completely in case it does discharge. Self evident that as long as a gun can be active, one should probably not point it in any direction at anything valuable - including one's hand. Or you can just wedge your tool somewhere and poke it in the barrel so a discharge will not hit your hand.

What I'd like to know are all the possible reasons that a GK1 can self-discharge without the trigger.

I have been using this pistol for last few months indoor and I play with high power and low power setting but I have Not yet experienced air dump or self discharge at all…
only problem gk1 has given me so far is the few holes In the mag have gone loose after few months of use!!!
which I think should not happen since I only use lead pellets.
make me wonder if the mag itself is made of alloy and not steel!!!!

Given this is the master thread, a question that I've not found addressed anywhere. Two questions:

1. Looking at 50-70 yard range, assuming that both have optimum pellets selected for each caliber, which would be more accurate - .22 or .25? Or no difference?

2. IF both the .22 and .25 are set at 20 foot lbs, would one give more shots than the other per fill of air?

Thanks.

Idk about 20fpe but with 15.89gr going 810fps I got 60 good shots with my old gk1 .22 from 350b-130b

so today filled up the tiny 80cc gk1 tank up to 310bar,
grabbed some 7.2gr Newman hollow point pellets.
and opened up the power screw up to 950fps,
and the pistol started dropping Pressure down to 5bar in less than 2 and half mags….
i was pushing the pellets from 20yds to 35yds…
am I missing some math here guys??
was it too much fps for 7.2gr???
what I m planning in session is to keep it around 850 and see how that goes…

So what we are seeing here with this pistol is that it’s not really designed for beyond 10yds unless u wanna just blow up the reservoir and then back to filling if user wants to go let say in my case even under 35yds distance…
750-850fps of whatever weight projectile seems to be the air usage best window for efficiency. i know when i tried 11.2gr .22 GTO pellets, about 800-830, i got tons of shots, just wasn't good for much, even plinking, past 20 yards, and my default is 50 yards...so i went heavier.

I like that fps window u mentioned,
my revere is factory set to 850fps
and my drs is also factory tuned for 815fps…
So what ur saying is u increased the weight of the ammo and stayed in 20yds or u went to ur 50yds distance With that fps setting???
cause I easily swing my kyl target at 34yds with 10gr pellets using my drs and revere…

11.2gr pellets don't do much at 50 yards, i went with a 28gr slug, going about 800-830fps, from my gk1. I get one mag per fill from 350 bar to 150 bar.

wow,
so u can send a heavier pellet with the same fps…
that’s so interesting to know…
I always thought that lighter the pellet the faster and harder it will with higher fps!!!!
