Also, do any of you have any experience with shooting the Apolo slugs? I know not too many people have had great luck shooting the Apolos out of their guns, but that has not been my case in most ocasions. On top of that I understand that most if not all would ward everyone from shooting anything smaller than .253 out of the hubens, but despite these slugs being .2505, they shoot very well for what they are and I haven't had a single jam yet. Occasionally I tap the mag on the buttstock so the slugs move back, but that's only when loading the mag if I had the barrel pointed downwards.
I rarely shoot for groups or bench shoot, either way I still strive to shoot half moa or better depending on the distanc I mainly pest control for iguanas 5-6 days a week. That being said, I decided to shoot 12 groups today. It was supposed to be 9 groups, 5 shots each, but after the first go round not going as planned. I decided to shoot another 3 groups of 5.
First picture will show all of the groups. The 3 stickers at the top are for the 33gr Apolos. I initially shot the groups that are directly below the target. I didnt have a tall enough table to shoot, so I used what I had. My kids craft chair and a glass patio table, it was too unstable and shaky, so I decided to just lay prone on our brick patio and the rest of the groups were shot the same from there.
I shot the groups from about 23.5yds. For the first go round using the chair, the groups were averaging .59" . Second round of 33gr were an average of .406". The group of 40gr in the middle area are an average of .575". And the bottom 3 are for the 33.94 mkii and those were an average of .49".
33gr Apolo were going 990-1000fps
40gr Apolo were going 932fps
34gr MKII were going 990-1000fps
Regulator is at about 152b
Also I understand this is just 23.5yds but I have been taking out iguanas out to 70yds since getting this Huben and have gotten plenty of iguanas and muscovys.
