When I decided to put a moderator on my .22 K1, I thought about it and figured that the holes in the shroud would be counter productive. Why let air out before it passes through the moderator to be "moderated"?
So I built my own "baffle stack" out of left over Marauder baffle cones, by taping them together after cutting one shorter to get the correct overall length, and then wrapped the front and rear ends of the stack with enough electrical tape to cause enough of an interference fit with the shroud that air could not get past and thus the holes in the shroud were effectively blocked off.
Even though the stack was sub-optimal (because it was a smaller diameter than the shroud, thus left dead space that could have been used for expansion) the new home-made part resulted in a quieter shot cycle than the stock baffle stack. As an added bonus, accuracy was a bit better too . . .
Then even better than that, I found on here a 3Dprinted all in one custom baffle insert that did the same thing as mine without the wasted space, plus it was made with a bit of "Tesla Gas Diode" tech too. It proved even quieter than mine, and kept the same accuracy benefit too. Unfortunately, that member no longer lists them for sale . . .
