Huben All Things HUBEN K1 - Master Thread

What caliber do you prefer for your K1 and why?

Since i have seen a good offer on a second hand K1 (2021) in .22cal and have heard about G.Kamenšek's preference of the K1 in .22, in the latest video, i got curious what preferences are out there (in here) and why?

(I have a GK1 in .25 and like it a lot, 'naturally' i would go for a K1 in .25 too, so i can use the same ammo.)

EDIT: i went with the 2021 .22 K1, it came with a decent red dot, bipod, assortment of pellets/slugs and an 8l scuba tank with best fittings. it was tuned for light pellets, but i am interested in shooting slugs on high power....just a shame, that it is snowing and freezing outside, right now.

Just buy jsb redesign 25.4 grain shoot ~285-300m/s or if u think u need more power and waste more air then buy jsb beast 33.4grain and shoot them at 295-300m/s 100joule and be done with that. I have the exact same huben and slugs are poop, magazine to wide vs barrel. + breach side of barrel is tight. I like to shoot 25.4grain~70joule 3mag per airfill. With beast and100j only 2 from 350bar. And i see no point in having so much power for punching paper :D if you want longer range buy a cheap .22lr

thanks, for the tips.
i'll try to cast my own ammo and am interested in power and range, no options of PB for me over here.

Only 2 what? 2 shots? Or 2 mags?

mine hates boattail slugs. it’s decent with nsa. jsb 34gr slugs shoot better than the nsa.
i did find that it likes those 34gr jsb king heavy diabolo mk2. it shoots them really well out to 140 yards.
i currently have it set for 900-925 fps with the 34gr jsb mk2 i have my regulator at 16-17 mpa and 18 clicks counter clockwise from zero on power wheel.
15 more clicks gets the 34gr mk2 over 1070 fps

2mags.. 3if 350bar
I mean that's 34 shots or more at 72fpe that's not bad at all.

.250 nsa slugs, or the .254?

.250
i haven’t tried the .254s
i’ve tried .254 altaros and they were everywhere.
i would say that the only thing i can take a point off the k1 is that its very difficult to bring the spread within single digits. if my notos can do 789fps with the 17.5gr 8/10 shots with single digit es.. why can’t my K1? am i being reasonable in wanting this?😅

Hmm that's interesting. Both my kids spread were single digits. My last k1 22 which preferred .223 slug would should do an ES of 3 and a SD of 2 or less within a full mag shoot 28.5gr vk slugs at 970. You may need to slug your barrel

maybe i should. i was planning on tidying up the belleville washers the next time i get the gun degassed. a new regulator would be next if rebuilding the oem regulator doesn’t do anything for me. ES is never higher than 17fps which isn’t terrible so i’m leaving it as is for the moment. i don’t shoot a far enough distance for that ES to matter

Before you decide to just rebuild the regulator or replace it. Look at your mow rings because you have several o-rings in that area. Yeah, including in the top hat, as well.

thanks! i’ll definitely get a good look at all of the o-rings. is that a replacement top hat? how does replacing o-rings help?
There's a possibility that it could, but i'm not going to directly say that it will as I am not entirely sure. I'm just saying make sure to check all the o-rings are good. As we know that any kind of oring damage or dry rotting will cause issues. I'll see about contacting kelly today to see if I can get any information for you.
