Huben All Things HUBEN K1 - Master Thread

I’m looking to buy one of these for pest control and I was wondering - is the power wheel to be used more or less to dial in the amount of air released to achieve a flat trajectory for a given slug/pellet weight? And then essentially left alone? Or can it be spun at will to give lesser power (or greater) when desired? Perhaps for smaller / closer targets? With removable mags I can just swap to more appropriate ammo but obviously not with the design of this gun.

I adjust mine all the time. I have a .22 that is set up for pellets (JTS 18.1s) and my "full power " setting is about 940 fps. I then dial it down as appropriate for the shot at hand - and if it is a chipmunk close to the house that could be as low as ~350 fps. I simply put a sharpie mark on the wheel, positioned so that it is pointing to the muzzle at "full power" and dial it back as appropriate. I know from testing how much each click drops it and the holdover required, and about 3/4 of a full turn clockwise (while looking at it, gun upside down) drops it under 500 fps.

It is so repeatable that I am simply amazed by it. I even tested it shooting groups where I alternated three pellets in the mag and shot each at a different power level, and all three pellets grouped very well down range.

As for having two different pellets in the mag, there is a member that had his mag laser etched with numbers for each slot - I've thought that if one had that done, they could easily put 10 of one and 9 of another in the mag and pick the one appropriate for the situation. But I find the power delta available from the power wheel is plenty on it's own, especially since I can load 25.4s and get back to 940 with those with a few extra clicks (and even 34s will do about 900, and that is regulated at only about 110 bar).

It is an amazing gun . . . .

Very helpful reply; you are doing exactly what I had been scheming… interested in knowing a little more about the mag tho - I was under the impression it would move through the rounds in sequence. Are you saying you can spin the mag at will to load a pellet/slug from any slot you desire?
yes you can flip up the loading lever and spin the mag freely - the manual recommends doing this after loading to ensure no ammo is protruding and the mag can spin all the way freely.

Anyone know what would cause the K1 to leak air if you tried to fill the air tube beyond what the regulator is set to? Cause that's what mine is doing currently. Kelly sent me the parts to replace the o ring on the adjuter housing and part 86. After installing them the gun fills only to what thr reg is set to. Anything past that won't hold.

Where does it leak?

have you tried shooting it to see if it cycles the magazine?

I tried shooting it at first, but the safety detend was out of place so I had to readjust it first. After that I tried adjusting the reg again and filling up but no fix. I assume it cycles because once I filled it up with air, the magazine rotated twice

I'm confused why are the threads on the reg body showing and the o-ring isn't hidden?

the only time i had a leak that sounds similar to yours is when i had to replace a broken striker sear(part 28). the gun would not hold air past the regulator setting no matter what setting my regulator was set at.
i was going crazy because the leak sounded like it was coming from around the regulator area.
did you fully close/open the regulator when tryin to figure out the leak?

That sounds exactly like what's going on! Yes I did, I worked the reg up to 190 and worked it all the way down. Filled it up again and the issue persisted.
