Today I was playing with my BB guns at my burgeoning Arkansas home. Started with my peep sighted HW 30. The top two red dot targets were shot at 28 yards. I then tried to hit the 50 yard 4" steel plate. I nicked it low a couple, three times. Not my best.

I busted out my 177 HW50 "Squirrel Gun" I shot five at the middle red dot (28 yards). That went better. Then I went for the 50 yard steel. The first three landed very close to each other. I got excited/cocky and shanked the the fourth 1.625 low and right. Nothing to lose I shot two more. They landed nearly on the first three. It would have been almost half inch at fifty had I not shanked the fourth shot. Oh well there's five out of six at 50 that almost make MOA. Maybe tomorrow?

Oh after that I layed another ten at the 28 yard dot. So that's 15 on that middle dot.

Be well, and greetings from Arkansas.
Ron

Nice shooting. Beautiful country in NW AR. We we’re talking about trekking up to Rogers this fall, been a few years. Your pics might have just sealed the deal ha ha ha.
I'm in Mammoth Spring AR. So technically it's NE AR. I think the area is still petty. We were looking for places in NW AR since 2019 and stumbled on this place a year ago. The property and home is very rough but its very private and has a fantastic view of a creek, a couple resident bald eagles and someone else's well kept hayfield. Lots of turkey and some deer as well.

Nice shooting and nice rifles too. Arkansas? Isn't that the gray squirrel capital of the world?:D

It maybe , but I don't see that many in my 113 acres of woods. It may have something to do with a Bobcat that occasionally shows up in my cameras and the coyotes I hear at night.

I have A LOT more grey squirrels back in suburban NY. Just not allowed to shoot them.

This will take care of your coyote and bobcat issue. Highly recommend if you’re a dog person.

Yep a GP is on our shopping list. We're gonna need one. Had a small chicken coop and pen delivered this week. I'm definitely a dog person I want to get a GP for an outside guardian and possibly another dog for personal companion. Probably a Lab. I grew up with a lab and had one before I lost everything in my divorce. The GPs are very popular here in Arkansas. We're waiting to get the chickens before GP pup so we can introduce them properly. I want to learn more about the GPs.

Love ours. He’s a pet but spends a great deal of time outside. Inside when we go to sleep. I don’t worry about the house. Or Kim when I’m not here. So gentle until there’s reason not to be. Scary when the switch flips. Independent, stubborn. Kind of dog that responds better to positive reinforcement over negative. Do anything for you once they know you’re partners. One of the 2 best dogs I’ve ever had. Grow them slowly so the ligaments, joints, etc. have time to develop and handle the weight. Oso runs 135-140 lb depending on how much he’s had to eat and whether he’s pooped yet LOL. Read up on stomach twist and how to avoid. There’s a Hungarian dog they pair them with now. The Pyrs stay with the flock and the Hungarian dogs go out and look for trouble. I’ll ask Kim what that dog is called. Ours currently paired with a Standard Poodle pup. That’s a whole ‘nother kind of dog there.
