Alpha Wolf .177 projectile testing

Soren - I have not. I have a single loader and some more mags on the way from CARM and will try when I do. For the most part though my particular barrel REALLY likes the 4.50mm 10gr Barracuda Match. I've been using them in the backyard at 750-800 fps and when the crazy winds cooperate they are making a ragged 1/4" hole at 42 yards.

Was wondering how the MR worked for you... glad they made the "likes" list!

They are working well, but I haven't been using them so much testing out the H&N and the 12.5gr NSA and 12.6gr Daystate Howlers. Takes a really high reg to push these projectiles fast in .177. I'm running at 150 bar on the reg and can't get much more than 900 fps out of the 13.43gr Redesign. The Daystate Howlers run at same speed as the Redesigns - they have a good amount of drag in the barrel.

Are you saying the Alpha/Delta wolf can’t push the 13.4 grain KO more than 900fps? That doesn’t seem right because that’s pretty low in today’s standard, you sure about that? If that truly is the case then that’s is rather disappointing for 4000 dollars after shipping and tax.

Clearly that's not what I said. At the reg set at 150bar that's around where I am maxing out. Maybe I can get some more by bumping up the voltage - more testing to do. The rating is 31 fpe, but might take a 180 reg to get there.

I'd like to hear what programming and reg setting Soren is using for his shooting.

Let me clarify a bit more - I haven't used the factory tuning that much as it want reg setting up at 170 and 185 to reach the speeds possible. I just checked things out and I did create an Advanced Setting for the Daystate Howlers with Voltage at 83 and dwell at 2500 us. This is getting me 960 fps with the 12.6 gr Howlers. I tested it with the 13.43 Redesigns and it is also pushing them at 960 fps.

So yeah - more is available on tap with the reg at 150 bar. About 27.5 fpe out of the Redesigns. I guess with the reg up around the 170 or 185 range and 16.2gr pellets I could get the advertised 31fpe - but that's not really a goal for me.

What have your groupings been like, I just started testing my .22 HP out yesterday , the rifle is an absolute joy to shoot, I love my taipan but this thing has all the robustness of my veteran with intricacies less robust rifles have, without being delicate... its amazing.

@CTairgunner1288 - I agree on the robustness - not that I would be knocking it around, but I don't think a few little bumps would effect it.

Groups have been good to very good so far. I have a windy backyard which keeps 177 interesting. The programming is quite simple once you get the hang of it too.

@Ctshooter

It is far too beautiful to be knocking it around! Shooting my dreamline I felt I could break it if I racked it to hard lol not with this thing. I am hopefully going to be able to test out some JSB knockouts this evening, 25.39, it really didnt like the 35 gr nielsens at all.

I am shooting the JSB KO 13.43 gr slugs at around 920-925 FPS at 148 bar on the regulator using a custom setup 👍🙂

I got in the 13gr KnockOuts and they are running okay but not great. I don't have a profile specific to them but running them in a few other profiles with speeds in the 895-900 range and up around 940 did not produce great results. I'm going to tweak a profile to get to 920 fps - maybe that is the sweet spot for these.

I'd also like to share my User Settings for others in case they might find this helpful.
To read the chart:
P = Pellet
S = Slug
10 = 10.34gr
13 = 13.43gr
16 = 16.2 gr
12 = 12.5gr slug
15 = 15gr slug
S, M, F = slow, medium, fast.

Now I set these up within the first few days of owning the rifle. When I did this S = 700 fps, M = 800 fps and F = 900-950 fps. There does seem to be a break in as the reg is still accurate to what it was set for but the speeds have slowly bumped up to around S = 740 and M = 860. I'll have to tweak the settings a bit.

Wow, that is awesome, is that Daystate Control Panel available with the daystate dongle for computer plug in? I do not have that yet as I dont even have a computer but this would make things much easier to look at verse writing everything down. Lol I know, I am slacking.
