Alright time to decide!

This has been a tough decision for me, I am looking into my next pcp. 30 cal , reliable, shooting good out of box, and easy to tune if I want to swap ammo around.

I will be hunting with the gun, anything up to coyote.

I was going to order a vulcan 3 but they are out of stock now. I am impatient as it gets. So now I’m looking into another gun.

Main points are reliability, durability and accurate at good distances 100 yards+.

Basically the vulcan 3 but 2nd best option.

FX Crown, easy to tune and super accurate, I have 2 of them in 25 cal 600mm barrel (y)

I'll second the Crown. Love mine so much that I bought a second one when it popped up on the classifieds. Mine are in .22 and .177. The .22 does great with NSA 24.8gr slugs. I don't have any experience with .30 caliber however. Both my MK2 Crowns have the Saber Tactical chassis and are just about perfect in my opinion; at least for my needs.

Ok I am intrigued, how durable and reliable are they?

I also like my crown, but how durable are you looking? They have a superlite barrel system that saves a ton of weight from the gun, but isn’t as sturdy as some other options. Other than that, they’re sturdy and reliable, and super accurate to shoot. They’re going to be much longer than a bullpup like the V3 you’re looking at, so walking around the woods might not be easy. I swapped my barrel to a 380, and now it’s woods walker friendly, but shooting slugs is a little more difficult with the shorter barrel. The perks of the system is, you could have a 380 barrel for pellets and light slugs, and keep a longer barrel handy for heavier slugs and bench shooting. Either you can buy 2 barrels, or just buy a continuum that comes with both 380 and 700 barrels.

Check out the RTI Prophet 2, it’s going to be more like your first choice the Vulcan 3. Super durable with all of its 7 orings.
Compact, much easier to carry in the woods. 700 cc bottle is optional at rtiarms.shop.eu You’re looking for a .30, you’ll want the biggest plenum you can get. The RTI Prophet 2 has 72 cc and can have two added extension taking it to 114cc, so when you’re looking to push those Heavy slugs you can. The magazine is extra wide offering you no limitations on which slugs you want to try. Slug length will never be a problem.
Barrel changes options like all the other brands.

Best of all: the gun is stupid simple! You can change every oring with a flat Blade screw driver, adjustable wrench, and three Allen keys

Can the barrel be swapped for a more sturdy option?

Yes, but it would add weight to the setup. I’m not sure it’s truly needed unless you’re clumsy with your rifles. Lol.
I’m confident the 380 barrel won’t have issues, but worse case scenario with longer barrels you could use a standard stx liner system, and get a carbon shroud from bullet central and make it a really solid setup. Not needed forvthe 380, but maybe for 600 and 700 options.

Why don’t more people talk about the prophet? I do like the gun, looks really simple and seems like something that can be bumped without POI shift

Jl,
Have you tried buying Vulcan 3 at Krales, in the Netherlands? Search "Krales" in archives for further info, if not familiar. Sorry to say, regardless, most of us have had to wait for airguns, kind of part of the program. I'm looking at the V3 (700mm) .30 Synthetic, realizing the V3 .30 in 500mm has the CZ barrel (better for slugs), but pellets only for me so prefer the 700mm. WM

Unfortunately I’m in the states, so I don’t think buying from Krale would work.

If you look up past posts you will find a lot of talk about many of those PCP rifles, like the RTI Profit and such.
There are many similar PCP like the Vulcan; not many people mention,Air Arms and the Daystate Bullpups.
For hunting I would not want a a cumbersome rifle,I think you are on the right track, the problem is it is easy to get derailed,:ROFLMAO:

I really wanted the vulcan 3, the crown seems to fragile, the maverick is out of the question, the rti prophet 2 is on my radar now, along with the kalibr cricket 60. The problem is I want something that’s tried and true, something durable and accurate as it gets.
