It will be another two weeks before I can go out again. Hopefully I will have scopecam charged and ready! I actually totally forgot about this challenge!

I'll be very happy if you join, it doesn't matter if it's a square plate or a round gong. The condition is 1,5 MOA target size.

for those interested in this competition:
You can calculate the target size for a given distance using this calculator for example:
This will calculate the diameter of the circle for a given MOA size.
If a square is more affordable for you, just multiply the calculated diameter size by the coefficient
0.886 to get the size of one side of the square, which will have the same MOA size (compare the size of the target area) as circle (gong) target.

Boy I totally fumbled today at the range. Long story short, I misread the guideline or the rules, and attempted it at 100 yards but totally choked when I got to 1 moa hitting it only once or twice out of 5 shots. I cooked my brains out in the sun and by the end of the day lost the memory card somehow, some where in my house. 😠

This was the start of the morning, boy that "know your limits target is tiny at 100 yards.

Guy next to me started cooking...

So...

😆

Anyways this target is lot smaller than it looks when it is at 100 yards. It is even harder to hit since it is not on a piece of paper which gives you a better idea where the misses are. I think next time I will be smarter and put it in front of a dirt mound. Dummy me I put it on top of the mound so I had no idea where the misses were in relation to the target. The "know your limits target" starts at 2 inches and each subsequent target is .25 inch smaller.

My bottle apparently started to cook in the sun and the regulator had issues regulating when bottle temperature brought the pressure above 300 bar. Anyways, hopefully I will find the memory card this week. I did get the shots of 1.5 moa for 100 and 1.25 moa but not at 1 moa. If not I will try again but hopefully be more prepared. Boy I was a dummy! 🤪

Try a small cardboard box painted white right behind the spinner. The thick cardboard makes seeing holes easier than paper. I just put dirt in it to keep it from blowing around.

Ha, I should take my own advice on that from last time I shot at our 100 yard spinner with a dirt back ground. I got pretty lucky a couple months ago and got that 1" spinner 9 times in row using my swaged 42gr slugs in my Thomas HPX. 3 of them barely nicked it but that counts if it moves. It had fallen off reg by that time because I hadn't the slightest belief going in that I'd hit it that many times and didn't fill the gun before I started shooting. It was kinda windy and I was just plinking but my friends saw it happen.

Hey you're out there trying so good on you. I bet next time will go better and it will be cooler out too.

can i use any caliber? or does this have to be done only using altaros slugs?
I shoot 30 cal and altaros does not make 30cal slugs

I understand you completely, sometimes I also have such a stupid day when even things that can't possibly go wrong, go wrong.
KYL's targets are more likely to be aimed at this thread of mine. I use similar rules to Eric Cortina in his 500yard chalange. 12 shots, but I have one less target, but again it starts at a more demanding size and I don't care if the rifle is pre-shot at the given distance or not.

This challange I really thought was as far as the 1.5 MOA target size would go with 3 hits from 5 shots.

🤣 talk about a weird day. I finally found the card that was in the camera. Apparently it was so bright out I could not see or understand the lights on the tactacam, I stopped the recording every time I want to record. 🤪

But I did get some footage of 5 shots of the 1.25" target. Which at 100 yards (99.9 in this case) is 1.25 MOA I hit it 4 times, and pulled it on the last one which nicked it.

Here is a link to a picture of the part of the range I shot. It is about even with their 100 yard targets on the left side.

Let's see if I can be a little more organized on the next outing.

nice, even the strikeout counts, it's a hit and doesn't have to be spectacularly spun around (y)

Altaros,
You set the bar pretty high by doing a successful run at 735yds to lead it off.
thanks for the warning, I should have written that at the beginning, my results/videos are not counted in the overall competition. So go for it. Personally, I think you are a very hot candidate for the prize.
In addition, this was filmed at the beginning of the year and I know for a few weeks now that it has been overcome by a new distance, but the time and desire to edit videos is getting less and less.
( It wouldn't be fair, I have access to the equipment and technology that hit the airgun market in a few months or years at the earliest.)
