Ammo Recommendation Benjamin .357

Try Matt's Bullets

Good selection, great prices, great quality.

I got a .358 Lee sizer and size the bullets once I get them,....and ask for no lube when you order.

For pure accuracy, the 81 grain JSB pellets are going to be hard to beat. Polymags should come a very close second to the JSB pellets. My bulldog will shoot either one under an inch at 50 yards. I haven’t had the chance to try a longer distance yet. I haven’t tried slugs so I can’t give you advice there. Your Bulldog will likely shoot a little different from mine as it’s not exactly in stock form.

JSB or FX .35, 81 grain Diabolo pellets shoot well. Benjamin .357 Nosler Extreme, 145g slugs work ok within a reasonable distance although they have been tough to find and are costly. You may want to give some NSA (Nielsen Specialty Ammo) slugs a shot as well. They have a lot of options so it may take a bit of experimenting. They have good prices so it shouldn’t be too big of an issue to experiment with them. In my opinion aforementioned pellets are a good option for shooting paper, metal targets, and raccoon to coyote sized animals. They group well for me out to around 65-70 yards.

H&N Grizzly .35 hollow point slugs perform miserably for me at 25 yards. I haven’t communicated with a Bulldog owner that these slugs work well for. H&N has acknowledged that they don’t shoot well from all .35 platforms. I forget their explanation. It’s on one of the manufacture or industry forums.
