Man another broken spring.. seems i get maybe a year, maybe.

But ya know even broken it was still doing a decent job with these 50y tries on stock irons..

Sure wish i could get more shot count / life from these springs .

Time may not be the issue, how many shots?? Back in my days we figured about 15 K shots per spring. Back when OX square springs were top quality I typically got 25/30K shots but then there quality failed. On average overvthe years, good springs about 15K and factory springs about 5/10K at best. Tuned springs were closer to the 10, where untuned were closer to the 5K ....but your results might vary....

I was just guesstimating about that average im figuring 10 - 13,000. At +/-500 a week .. she gets pounded good for sure..

Ya yesterday or day before when i cocked it and heard that little snap/ crunch i knew the deal.. lol.

Oh well, got another comming and will be back in business soon..😉

I would too if I was cycling springs at the level your R9 is. Maccari springs have a rep for a reason.
Your numbers are probably not far off from an average non competitors numbers, after several years of ownership. Possibly a lifetime for some casual plinkers.
A tin a week is putting in work.

I would bet even money that you would get same same spring life at best, and more likely less, if you switched.
I have yet to break a Vortek spring, but my total shots fired on them are a fraction of your tally.

You got some good usage out of that spring. Not that I'm suggesting it's the case here but for the benefit of others. Guns that diesel badly will have shortened spring life. Another reason to build a clean good sealing gun. Dry firing and to a much lesser degree heavy pellets will also shorten spring life.

Springs fail under the best conditions after so many cycles. They're a consumable as far as I'm concerned. Breaking one a year from dedicated use is more a badge of honor in my book.

Ya, that spring gets a workout i figured a 500 count tim every 10 days +/-.

The shipping lable the order for that spring was april 2 so pretty farn close to a year of shooting ..lol.

Funny i dont think shot amount just time in days worth..

Now its a twittle thumbs till the new one arrives...

Hmmm interesting :unsure: I don't own a springer but Im on the edge so I'm learning from the experience of others here. If your getting 20K pellets per spring +/- I would say that's getting your moneys worth out of that spring. I'm impressed that you were still able to shoot and get the results on target you were getting🎯 and at 50 yds!!:oops: So I'm impressed even more with the springer air rifles, thanks for sharing(y).

Seems so . Onve i reminded myself on the shot count i put these through and a spring today was 20$. Its not so bad then .

Next is seeing how the new spring compairs to the old spring results.

Just to add a hw springer is pretty good in shooting , but life's maintenance is pretty good in itself. Lots of parts options some cheap some not so but mostly easy available in most cases . Right now is a bad time for branded stuff ( supply shortages things) , but like springs and seals to keep it going is near a non issue. It's a solid rebuilable platform with plenty of user support like at these forums ..

I have a single pump pneumatic, and multi pump pneumatic and a CO2 so now I'm thinking Springer break barrel. Funny it was not too long ago I was thinking of selling the single pump :oops: and now I enjoy shooting air guns more than PB's:D there's just so much to like about them. It all my research on break barrels I do believe I will end up with a HW unless there comes a deal/sale on another that just "forces" me to head that way.

Well like my gamo . It's been my best .22 near maintenance free for the past 4-5 years , but ot needs a new seal . Thats all just a simple piston seal bit no one has it in the usa and only cas Australia has them . Gamo is super no self fix or parts. Thats the shame with them and why they get a bad rap overall . There perfectly good hard hitting spot on target gun parked over a simple piston seal that to get one i got to go to Australia to get ? By the time you deal with that and international shipping you kinda shrug ot off as it's really not worth it. Like a seal that should be 20$ is costing you 60$..,lol..
