Tuning Another FX Impact tuning question

My MKII .25cal (with Huma V2 transfer port and Huma probe) is shooting FX Hybrids at about 1015fps and 28gr slugs about 990fps with the reg @ 110bar and the valve on (or about) line 3. The gun shoots best about line 2 (or a little less) and I want it to be about 950fps at that setting. With the current tune it hits about 900fps (or less) at that setting. My question is....can I just set the valve around line 2 and bump up the reg and hammer spring until I get the desired velocity? Most tuning videos I've watched talk about setting the vale last.

Is that 1,015fps your max speed when your reg is at 110b? Or is your max speed 1,040fps and you have your wheel backed down to 1,015fps. Don’t make the same mistake I made with my gun and have a super accurate slug tune that is too far above the knee. For months I had to shoot my gun with a 225b max fill and had to refill at 180b. Now that I’ve decided to get the gun accurate over an entire fill to refill, I’m about ready to wrap the gun around a tree. Just can’t seem to find that magic again.

I previously would max out my MK2 to get the max power out of it but after watching some of the master craft videos I decided to reset my Impact. I basically just started from scratch and took my time and followed Ernest Rowe and AirBuks step by step video.

I was able to achieve the speeds and more importantly the accuracy I was after without stressing the rifle. Corvid_hunter I would definitely go up in reg pressure and you are right to adjust the valve last. Once I really followed the steps and got past the fact my regulator was up 10 or 15 bar I realized I wasn't putting more stress on the system and the rifle was near or at harmony. Shot count improved, accuracy was there and the sound was significantly less. When I fired the rifle didn't jump as before and it was a pleasant experience.

I ended up retuning each of my rifles after the success and what a difference it has made. From my MK2, Maverick and now my M3 I went back to the basics and followed each rifles video on tuning. It took time and plenty of patience but you will be rewarded with the rifle you wanted when you bought it. These rifles have so many ways to mess up and only a few to make them shoot correctly.

Back to your original question: If you keep your valve at line 2, but change the other parameters (pressure, and hammer), it does not nescesarry mean line 2 will be your best setting anymore. If you increase pressure, it can often be better to turn valve adjuster out. You probably has to do another accuracy test, to find your new prefered setting.

Isn't what your suggesting basically retuning the rifle?

Yes, you are correct:)
