Another...just for fun question, for interchangeable barrel guns

Have any of you...just for something to do...put a bend in an extra barrel on purpose ?

I'm talking 90° or more ? I don't have any spare barrels for anything laying around, or I might try it.
Not exactly sure how you'd aim it, without a little mirror arrangement of some sort, but...

Look back at WW2, the Germans had a few different ideas on this subject. Mainly for armor and troop transport. The bended barrels would be used to keep enemy off their vehicles.

Beside the Germans, the Myth Busters did a series of bends years back.

Using a .22, their first bend was 15°, then to 45°, then to 90°, then to 180°. All different/new barrels.
Don't recall exactly, but I think that they only lost something like 30 or 40fps from straight to 180°. All bullets went through a piece of ballistic gelatin about 10" or 12 " thick.

I'd say that the target gun above might work except for the first, almost 90° bend. Seems awful sharp !

Yeah the target gun pictured most likely shoots like i do , except my barrel is 100% straight

The pistol pictured was said to group spot on, fired round ball only naturally , made to knock down barrel drop/straightness grips of the day.

The Germans in WW2 actually made a 90 degree barrel to shoot arounds corners. It worked, but burned out barrels quickly.
