Anschutz Super Air 2001 repair

why don't you buy a new one and measure it up, the piston seal is on Ebay

https://www.anschuetz-sport.com/en/downloads/ersatzteillisten/
Yes, the piston seal is available as well the other seals needed to service this rifle. The firing valve seal doesn't seem to be available though. I can't even find it in the parts list which you have linked above, rather it is included in "valve body, complete", which I have not been able to find for sale either.

So not sure what you mean?

well if you want to make a part, as in 3d print one as an option to the factory part, i would work off the factory part for the measurement
if i was trying to get my own gun up and running i would use factory parts 100% of the time
of course, any other soft part that is not offered becomes a big problem and can or will make a any air gun a wall hanger
i would think any 3d print soft part should be in the 70-90 dura hardness
the valve is not even show well in the diagram and was sold only as a complete part

i guess the Anschutz 2001 would be a rifle not to buy because of parts

Scroll down to post #8 by WonkyDonky and look at the pics of the firing valve he posted. There are 2 versions, and the later version is used in the 8002 and 9003 rifles.
The early valve is the same as the 2001 super air valve, and the later one is the easier to source version used beyond the 2002 platform.
You may be able to match up part numbers.
Thanks for the link. Yes, the early version is exactly what I have. Seems to be a mission impossible to locate.

Since my seal was all but obliterated when I acccessed it inside the rifle I didn't know what the original seal looked like but tried my best to make something from the shapes of the pieces that I had.

I came up with two seperate seals that I 3D-printed using 95A TPU and with these I actually got the rifle working as it did before. Only problem is that in cold weather (around zero degrees C) the TPU gets to stiff and doesn't seal. I have ordered smaller nozzles for my printer and softer TPU. With help from the pictures found at airgunsbbs (Thanks! Chuck in Ohio) I will hopefully be able to make a good duplicate.

The link below takes you to My Drive where you can find the STLs for the two seals I'm currently using. As soon as I can I hopefully design and print a slightly softer one-piece seal.

If you can't print or get someone to print I can do that for you. I would however rather wait till I have better materials and a better design.

You wouldn’t believe how excited I was when I saw your post. I’d read this thread over a year ago but still hadn’t been able to find what I needed. Does your 2002 have the earlier version valve, like the 2001? My seal was also obliterated so it was very interesting to see the photos (another thanks to Chuck-in-Ohio)

I don’t know anybody with a 3D printer but I’m sure I’ll be able to locate someone able to do it for me. If I know that you are perfecting your design and are willing to share it, I will hold onto the rifle as I had all but given up on ever getting it working again. I bought it new around 1990 and would love to get it going again. Your original design would probably work fine as I’m unlikely to have zero degrees any time soon (I’m in Australia so mid 30s are pretty normal🥵). Very interested to hear how you go when you get your softer material.

Anschutz North America shows the following to be available

You euro guys can get one here it looks like

Search Waffencenter Gotha, Schneider, or Buinger for obsolete parts.

I have no suggestions on the interchange between early and late valves unfortunately.

Scroll down this page from Gotha, and they seem to be saying that it is a straight swap, but only for the CA version.

Maybe some reverse engineering will get it to work??

Try Anschutz in Germany. My buddy bought a used Super Air SSP 3-4 years ago used and the receiver cracked. We were at a loss so I threw a Hail Mary and contacted Amschutz in Germany. They sent a new receiver and valve. Told is not to pay for it until we received the parts and we satisfied. They were great to work with. I couldn’t believe they still had parts for a rifle that old. We couldn’t find anything stateside. Joe at Elite Shooting Sprts said he has made valves in the past but at that time did not have time to build any. He may now.

My valve and seal seem to much up pretty much exactly with the second picture on that link. I am currently waiting on materials and nozzles, once they are here I will take the rifle apart again and the designing of a new seal another crack. Planning to take pictures of the take down procedure.

Right now I'm shooting with my home made seal once or twice a week, 60 shot series each time so have a couple of hundred shots fired now, all working great.

Keep your 2001 if you like it, we'll get it up and running again!

I know I’m resurrecting an older thread, but I just picked up a mint, SuperAir2002 SSP. Shot 10 shots out of it perfectly… let it sit for about 15 minutes and went to chrono it, and trigger clicks but does not fire. When you open the cocking/charging lever, it will release the pressure and fire the pellet. Sounds like what some of you have experienced in the past. Is it that the pressure is too low because the piston rings are worn? Or is there a trigger adjustment that might be the culprit. Gun looks brand new and looks like it hasn’t been shot much, if any...

My Daisey 717 does the same thing
